Security upgrade...

Well they were installing new security cameras at work today. This came about after someone stole the register from the gift shop this past week. From my understanding what happened was a patient was wondering the front of the hospital in the late hours (like between 11pm and 1am) on (I think) Wednesday night. When he asked for some help with a phone call from the registration clerk there seemed nothing odd about it as that happens quite often. He then apparently spotted the gift shop key where it was hidden behind the desk. after the clerk had gone home for the night he slipped back behind the desk and took the key. He then used the key to gain access to the gift shop where he attempted to break into the locked cash register.
Discovering that opening the register without knowing the code would take no less than a crowbar he simply took the whole thing and preceded to mess up the rest of the gift shop before walking out the door, register in arms.
Now this was all caught on a large number of security cameras. The register was eventually found a little north of the town and I believe they caught the culprit.
So.. What was the take for breaking and entering, theft, getting a cameo roll on at least a half dozen surveillance cameras, and the amount of jail time he is now looking at? About $70.
Yah... that was worth it. When I get a newspaper with more info ill have to look into what everyone else heard.
By the way... I didn’t post anything about it until now as it was an “ongoing investigation” and was better to NOT make it public info. Now the media has reported the incident in a number of newspapers and EVERYONE has been talking about it at the hospital.
Most of the talk has been along the lines of “how dumb does someone have to be to do that in a hospital with all those security cameras around?”.
Well... I cant really comment on the mind set of other people or rant about the ignorance of individuals thought society or I would seem like a much more negative person and would be talking way too much.
My only comment would have to be... he probably wasn’t thinking about it at the time. It seems when people do things like this it’s on the spur of the moment and they haven’t thought it out. I mean if they had actually stopped to think about it, the chances are they would never go through with it.

Well... ill have to work on some things this weekend and I might post about some other stuff if I get around to it. Otherwise ill post back on Monday.
