Could you imagine if the individual player concept hadn't come along until much later? Myst - Command your army through a series of puzzles... and try to only take a small number of casualties... oh wait... they had that game... it was called "Lemmings".
Vampire -- You can command the Camrilla, the Sabbat, the Anarchs... no sorry no more factions, three players only...
Final Fantasy -- Command your elite ops... no wait...
I'm sure there would be plenty of funny ones if you take a moment to just imagine armies in traditional games... lulz

You can train a child to do anything. I hope that if he is truly a prodigy, he doesn't waste his life on teaching. No offense, but if he is truly that good he would be better developing information and knowledge for humankinsd as it takes more than someone who is good at something to be a good teacher.
