A few things (including a WIP snippet)

-- I do not have anything complete to offer for Yukimura's birthday. I am very ashamed of this fact; but instead I am giving you... a teaser? *g*

This fic idea is basically Pez's bastard brain-child which she disowned at birth and left on my metaphorical doorstep with a note instructing me to look after it. It's AU, and it's about Rikkai as the young and wealthy who have too much time on their hands. Improbable as that sounds. I was ordered to write it as my atonement for... past sins, which I cannot divulge at present but which were severe. I have to write less-than-absolutely-serious porn. Apparently then Yukimura might forgive me. I'm not convinced that'll be all it takes, personally.

And of course, some people may consider this a sin in and of itself. :D Pairings are... Niou/Yukimura, Sanada/Yukimura, Yagyuu/Niou, and possibly others. It's called Pleasurewood Hill (also on orders from Pez). It's not the most worksafe thing you will ever see. Really.

Pleasurewood Hill

The sheets were kicked most of the way off the bed, tangled and in disarray, and the warm afternoon sun fell through a gap in the curtains, slanting across Niou's face as he caught his breath. He looked his best like this, Yukimura decided, although he was an undeniably attractive man at the worst of times; it wasn't as though he would sleep with anyone sub-par.

"Demanding bastard," Niou told him, squinting at him through the light. Yukimura laughed, breathless himself.

"Don't pretend you didn't find that satisfying."

"Mm. I like it when you make demands."

"And here I thought you had authority issues."

"Maybe, maybe not. Guess I'm still a mystery, huh?"

Yukimura resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He was feeling too lazy and sated to get into one of Niou's games - too lazy to think about much other than lying here for a while and then taking a long shower, really.

He was drifting pleasantly when the phone rang, and it took a moment for him to locate it, fumbling around on the bedside table without opening his eyes.

"Mmm. Hello?"

"Do you make a habit of sounding as though you've just been fucked when you answer the phone, or is this a special service laid on for my benefit?" Renji's perfectly level voice asked.

"Renji! If I'd known it was you I'd have pretended I was still in the middle of getting fucked. What is it?"

"I wanted to know if you were still interested in going to the gym to work out this evening."

"I've just had a workout," Yukimura drawled. He enjoyed visiting the gym a great deal, but he wasn't at his most energetic right now.

"I'm quite aware. Which is why I felt the need to ask."

"I'll think about it." Beside him Niou rolled over, stretching, and draped an arm casually over Yukimura's waist, fingers, brushing against his skin. Yukimura let out a pleased hum.

"Boxing classes are being held tonight, in case you need extra motivation."

"Oh," Yukimura said - partly out of renewed interest, and partly because Niou had wandering hands. The second fact was really doing nothing at all to make his body less interested in the images of a certain fitness instructor and personal trainer wearing a fairly minimal amount of clothing, though. "I'll be there."

"Then I will see you later," Renji said. "I'm sure you're busy right now. Don't wear yourself out." Insofar as it was possible to tell, he sounded amused.

"Later." Yukimura hung up hastily, tossing the phone aside so that it clattered down onto the floor somewhere, and turned his full attention back to Niou for the moment.

Well, almost his full attention.

Renji rang the doorbell at six in the evening, and Yukimura was more or less ready. He'd managed to get rid of Niou well enough in advance to shower and make himself look less like someone who'd spent the entire afternoon in bed, and came racing down the stairs at the sound of the bell, workout clothes clutched in one hand.

"Your composure and elegance never fail to astound me," Renji commented as Yukimura made it outside, slamming the door behind him a little too hard.

"Same for your sweet and forgiving nature. Why does everyone like you again?"

Renji smiled, serene. "Perhaps one day you'll work it out, Seiichi."

"Hm. I just hope you're not leading me on about tonight."

"I would never."

"You would, and you have."

"I suppose you'll just have to trust me."

Renji's car was parked on the road outside. They got in and drove mostly in silence, heading off of Pleasurewood Hill and into the city proper.

He would have to let Renji off this time, Yukimura supposed; Sanada Genichirou was indeed present and correct. More than correct, really.

"I'm amazed he can concentrate on anything, given the way you stare at his backside," Renji commented quietly.

Yukimura just smiled. "It's a rather enjoyable view."

He was less impressed a little later when Sanada pulled him up on his technique for the fifth time.

"I'm fine," he told Sanada when asked if he needed help. "Just tired today."

"There was a correct answer to that question," Renji told him later, "and that was not it. Perhaps if you were a little less obsessed with pretending to be perfect at everything you do and could admit you need extra instruction… one on one sessions, perhaps?"

Yukimura gave him a sceptical look.

"For goodness sake, Seiichi. If you're so intent on him then please act on it before I die of frustration on your behalf."

-- More things to kill time; the letter game thingy. Get given a letter, list ten things beginning with that letter which you like, other people may request a letter from you. Etc. tokyostory gave me N.

1. Niou Masaharu. Oh, you saw this one coming. He's spiky, he's odd, he's got a vicious streak a mile wide (or maybe that's Yagyuu), and I love him anyway.

2. Neverwhere. One of my favourite books. It made moving to London an even more interesting experience, too... *g*

3. New Model Army. Music for journeys and adventures. We follow the tail-lights out of the city, moving in a river of red...

4. North Norfolk Coast. I have a weird relationship with Norfolk sometimes but this I can say I love. The coast is stunning, and changeable, and varied. It has moods. Wide open skies, beaches that stretch for miles, salt-marshes covered in sea-lavender and samphire, hazy-purple in the summer sun. Sunset over salt marshes on a flood tide, the sun dropping down behind the pine trees at Wells and throwing fire across the water. Running down Blakeney harbour with a good wind in the sails, chopping through the waves out across the harbour mouth.

5. Night skies. Not unrelated to point 4. Norfolk has a lot of sky and it's one of the things I do sometimes miss about it; it's big and flat and empty and the ground isn't that interesting but on a clear night the sky is more than a little incredible.

6. Nuno. Nuno is my dad's oldest cat. She's black and sinister-looking and not very friendly unless she feels like it; a bit of a grumpy old lady. But I get on very well with her. We just sit around being quiet and not bothering each other. (On my last visit she used me as a toddler-shield.)

7. Niou-hedgehog. He's not even mine but I do rather adore him. (This is a hedgehog plush belonging to Pez. He's the bad idea hedgehog, and has been known to do inappropriate things in public places. He's also very squishy and good to hug. Sometimes he writes fic. His fics are all basically the same but... hey, if it works.)

8. Neuromancer. I don't think Gibson's characters are great but the setting is so intriguing that it's actually strong enough to carry the whole thing through. And keep me re-reading the book fairly frequently.

9. Notebooks. I don't have a Crystal-level compulsion about stationary but there's something really nice about a new notebook, and something comforting about an old worn one. I don't write by hand much and it's actually a bit difficult for me unless I'm forced to get used to it but I like having notebooks anyway.

10. Neurofen. Okay, I don't buy neurofen mostly, more like generic ibuprofen. But that doesn't begin with an N and my brain isn't working very well. 8) Regardless, I require it to live some days, so I'm quite fond of the stuff. >_>
