soo ny was pretty damn fun. except for a few mishaps, but it was all pretty funny. An experience, if you will. quick over view for those who like to read these things, but be warned, i'm very bad at writing about trips and such. Sequenced events are NOT my strong point.
Anyway, we got there and the hotel was the shit, except we got in at 7 am NY time, which is 4 am our time, so i was super tired and we couldnt get our toom till 12 pm NY time. and just for the sake of not typing a ton, all the times from now on are NY times, unless otherwise noted. =) so we go to eat breakfast and some diner and come back to our wonderful hotel room. and i slept. then slept some more. I was really tired cause the plane ride sucked ass. after i woke up, we went and walked around time square! wooo so fun. then we just kinda chilled around. The next day it was pretty rainy, but we decided to take a bus tour anyway. BAD idea. it was all foggy and you couldnt see anything. it sucked. Fortunately they were two day passes, and the day after was very clear and i got to go to the empire state building and look around soho and lower manhattan. fun stuff. The next day, this is wednesday i believe, we went to the statue of liberty but it was a three hour wait to go to the island! WTF! so we just went on a boat tour around the island and ellis island and i went under the brooklyn bridge. =) OH!! i totally skipped a day. that stuff all happened thursday. Wednesday we went on the bus more and i went to see WICKED!! it was the best show i've ever seen, i cried like...5 different times. literally. i felt like such a gay man. it was embarrassing. haha i worked on my gay hands though. a lot. i'm better now. i wrote an entry on that. wicked, not the gay hands. i'll elaborate on that later.
time for a new paragraph. soo the next day is when i went to the statue and that stuff. But the first couple of days that i had been in NY my sister, her boyfriend, my mom and i all waited in line to see Conan O'brien. but we always got there too late. So thursday morning, we get there at 6 am (they give out the tickets at 9). you have to be there so early because you get numbers from 1-75 in chronological order depending on who was first. and they let you in according to those numbers when they tape the show. but they dont let in more than 20 most of the time, cause its a stand-by line. and the days before we were like...67 or something. i hope you followed all that. anyway, thursday we got numbers 6, 7, and 8. my mom didnt come that day because she almost started a riot wednesday in line because some bitches cut. but she made a scene. crazy. Anyway, so thursday after the statue and stuff, we go to wait in the stand-by line to see Conan. well we get there and she counts out 20 to go in, so i thought, "Score! i'm totaly in!" BUT! some people who had real tickets to see the show came late, so the lady could only let in around 12 of the stand-by people but it wasnt garunteed how many would be let it. SO scary! so we go through security and she tells us (my sister, her boyfriend and me), "i can only let two of you in." shit. shit shit shit. so my sister and i start walking in and her boyfriend being the awesome guy he is starts to walk away and the lady yells, "we can squeeze you in the back! you'll have to sit on a stool but...". Well, that was good enough for him. So we saw Cone Zone, and you could hear me yell on tv. Sweet. =)
that made my day, but then! i went to see the Lion King right after! it was pretty good, but i was in the second row on the side, but the stage was too high. i couldnt see the stage floor or any of the trap door stuff. i was so mad. and what also made me mad...i could see people in the wings talking to each other and standing around!! we're not even allowed to do that and there are broadway people making faces to a person on the other side of the stage from the wings?? it was very distracting, but the show was still good. Not as good as wicked, but what is =) then today, well friday, i went to the museum of modern art. it was awesome. I saw the actual Starry Night by Vincent Van Gough. It was soo cool. i took lots of pictures too. i'll put them in a cut later. too tired right now. after that, i came back and went on our little van back to the airport.
The whole trip was soooo fun. i cant wait to go again. seriously. now im home and have things i need to settle and things i need to do. we'll see what happens. but i'm super tired, and i'm gonna go to bed =) talk to you all later.
