Have you ever been continuously arse-fucked by a boil-ridden, rancid-hobo-piss-reeking monster, with three rotating, giant metal pineapples for a dick? I have. Fondly, I call it This Past Week.
I'm not sure which of you cheeky bastards slipped a mickey in my cordial to make me wake up in la-la land, but, rest assured, I am building you a special

My advice is to tell him that you've just had a major emotional upset, and that you need time to think about it.

He was out of the office, in Sydney, from Monday through to Thursday. So I he only just got back. I'm also guessing that the office was in such disarray upon his return that he suddenly realised he'd fucked up royally.
But that's just wishful thinking.

I think you could do with a week to yourself for this awful business with Stephen -- but you may be the sort of person who needs to immerse themselves in something in this sort of situation... I don't know you that well.

No, you're right. Going straight back into working is probably the best thing for me right now. Thank you for your advice.

I really hope things brighten up for you soon, and in a big way.
I agree with momentsmusicaux, if you need time to think about it, explain to your boss that you've had a very difficult week and he should be understanding about that.
Also, I think if he fired you in front of everybody, he should owe you an apology in front of everybody. Though you may not be in a position to really press that issue if you want your job back.

If it was me, I wouldn't hesitate ringing. You might feel shitty right now Catt, but you have the choice of feeling shitty without a job or feeling shitty with a job ( ... )

Thank you for this. I'll speak with you about it later, maybe. But (as said), I appreciate your comment lovely. xxx

Catt, you have had a remarkable last couple weeks. It almost sounds to me like something out of a movie, like something that's too wild to even be real. And yet, it is.
You're telling me. I've been in a stupor for days. I will not ask for an apology, however, I will put my foot down in relation to polite and just behaviour in the future.
Thank you, sweetheart. I very much appreciate your taking the time to comment here, and with support.

Good to hear about the (ex-)job, though. When I first heard that he fired you over a misunderstanding, I found it hard to believe (assuming this is the same person we're talking about), and am not surprised that he realised his mistake and moved to make amends. Of course, whether that's good enough is for you to decide.

You no doubt know the man in a more social setting, and I barely know him at all. But I *am* impressed with his way of dealing with this, and I will go back to work on Tuesday.

But yes, it's good to hear that (a) the company is not, after all. an unethical cowboy operation who treat their staff like shit, and (b) you've still got a pretty cool job and a boss who respects you. Congratulations, and best of luck.

regarding the former matter, you have my sympathy, i'm sad that you lost someone who was dear to you.

Your first sentence = perfect. And correct. I'll be going back on Tuesday. Thank you for your advice. xx

...and for your condolences.

not that feeling comfortable at any place of employment has ever been contingent of whether or not people work anyplace, but there are levels of discomfort, i guess.

I'll see in the next few weeks. I know now that i've experienced pretty much the worst that I could, and that i'll be better equipped should it occur again.
Thank you, lovely boy.
