Over on facebook, I had to lay the smackdown on Jimmy Gillan because he dismissed the Bloody Beetroots as inferior remixers than Boys Noize and Riot in Belgium. Then it was revealed that he hasn't heard their original stuff, which made me laugh and laugh and laugh.

In other news, I might be the only person left on this earth that doesn't really like Daft Punk all that much. :|

Anyway, have some Bloody Beetroots. It'll be like massaging your brain with a jackhammer.

1. The Bloody Beetroots - We Are From Venice (La Serenissima) Found this a couple days ago via elbows; I'm also pretty sure Justice used this track in their Fabric mix awhile back. The violins are a little bit of a departure from the pure synth noise I've grown accustomed to, but they create a slicker, more organized sound that's actually really pleasant. (THE BEAT DON'T CHANGE THOUGH, AND I'M THANKFUL.)

2. The Bloody Beetroots - I Love the Bloody Beetroots I've posted this track before. I'm posting it again because it's insane and brilliant.

3. Timbaland - Miscommunication (Bloody Beetroots Remix) I could listen to the BBs doing Timbaland all week. They work around the original material pretty well, from what I can hear, and it just sounds seamless, with an occasional little bit of lag on the bass to keep things interesting.

4. The Whip - Trash (Bloody Beetroots Remix) Definitely my favorite remix of theirs, at least in recent days. The original track is excellent as well, but the way this throbs and gets fuzzy and then DOES BOTH, I can't even think of it as anything but a BBs creation. Plus, it ends with that noise your desktop recycle bin makes when you empty it, which kills me every time.

Meanwhile, still trying to come up with a paper topic for Fever Pitch. Is this the price you pay for loving a book so much? I can't write about Hornby at all without feeling a certain dread, closely linked to my fears of failing the text, I suspect.
