Let the countdown begin!

In seven days, the local feed store gets their first shipment of chicks. We've been chatting with the lady that works there, and getting things ready. So we purchased a big tupperware to house the chicks in until they are big enough for a coop. Honestly, the most expensive thing is probably the tupperware and the light (apparently, clear light will make them eat each other! So red it is!). I figure I'll use some of my tip money over the next week to get things ready, buying sawdust and grit and food and so on. So I can go and pick up some new furry friends next Wednesday, if I have time, or the next day. She suggested getting one day old chicks so they have a chance to bond with you. It's the next best thing to incubating them yourself, if you want them to have affection for you.
