Day off today! Work WED and THURS and then...
Friday Saturday and Sunday my HS phone leash will be cut, this is the greatest birthday gift I could receive. I will also not be checking my work email. Mark my words.
last night i finally caught up with an old pal, 27 years later... (or really just 5) we've evolved into newer versions of our old selves, changed up our old routine: instead of driving and coffee we had sushi and an adult beverage. but it was great fun. talking, listening, catching up and slipping into familiar roles (cookie)
Mom said the other day i've been smiling more, she's right. Things are finally settling in, clicking into place, my old pal said it last night, I had a rough few years, it's nice to see me flourishing. I agree.
I've always used LJ as my sadness sounding board. It's not always fun to read that crap so it's good that people don't have to suffer through it these days. As the days turn to weeks and then into months i hope i'll be able to use this as a peephole into my entire life, not just that dark corner that is often magnified by this online outlet.
I was up early this morning, well worth it of course but I can feel myself fading. I think I'll doze in and out for a little bit.
