CHAPTER EIGHT
The coming months pass in a blur. Jazzy, Taemin, and Key were all busy planning the wedding. Of course we’re going to have a triple wedding. I mean the six of us have been through quite a lot. Besides, I don’t think any of us would want it any other way. We had originally planned on just going away one weekend and eloping, but our families probably wouldn’t appreciate that much. Especially mine and Jazzy’s parents.
So here I am, in the room reserved for the groom in the back of the church. It was late August, just a few months after Yoogeun’s first birthday. The weather was finally starting to cool down, we had a particularly hot summer this year. It would have sucked if the weather was still the same and I had to stand at the front of a crowded church sweating buckets. The last thing I need is to sweat right through my suit on my wedding day.
“Kim Yoogeun,” Jonghyun yells, “Stop right where you are. We need to get you changed. The wedding is going to start in less than an hour and all you have on is a diaper and undershirt.”
“SHIRO!!!!”
“I’m not going to say it again,” Jonghyun starts to walk to him and Yoogeun runs away.
“MEHRONG!”
“KIM YOOGEUN! I mean it, we need to get you dressed.”
“Need help Jjong hyung?” I ask from my seat.
“No, I got this Minho,” he’s walking towards Yoogeun again and again Yoogeun runs away.
“You sure?”
“I think I can handle my son Minho!”
“If you say so.”
I spend the next ten minutes watching Jonghyun chase Yoogeun around the small room. I try not to laugh, but can’t help it. Onew is even laughing.
“Hyung, let me help,” I finally manage to get out between laughs since we were starting to run out of time.
“You really think you can get him to listen to you?” Jonghyun asks me clearly out of breath.
“Yeah.”
“Let’s see then,” he motions for me to try my luck.
“Yoogeunnie, come to Minho appa!” I say as I stand up and hold my arms out.
“MINHOOOO APPAAAA!” he screams as he runs into my arms.
“We need to get changed now okay? Umma is waiting for you and you need to look handsome for her okay?” I walk over to Jonghyun and he’s starting at me mouth agape as I take the clothes from his hands.
“NE MINHOOOO APPAAAA!”
“You should go and get dressed too Jjong hyung,” I say as I stand Yoogeun on the counter and start to help him get into his suit for the ceremony, “Do you know what day is today Yoogeunnie?”
He just shakes his head at me, holding onto my arms as he gets into his pants, “It’s a very special day. It’s the day umma and appa are going to get married. Same with Taeminnie appa and Minho appa as well as Onew appa and Key umma. Are you excited Yoogeunnie.”
“No.”
“Why not? There will be a big cake later and I know how much you love cake.”
“Cake?”
“Uh huh.”
“YUMMY! CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE!” I laugh at his sudden excitement at just the word cake and finish buttoning up his shirt.
“There all done,” I lift him off the counter and set him on the ground.
“What about his tie?” Jonghyun says as he himself is adjusting the tie he just put on.
“We’ll just put it on right before the ceremony. He’ll just pull it off if we put it on,” I say and take my seat again. Yoogeun comes over and climbs into my lap.
“Sometimes I think my son likes you better than he does me.”
“It’s because he does hyung,” I tease, “Right Yoogeunnie? Who do you love more? Minho appa or your real appa?”
“MINHOOOO APPAAAA!” he throws his arms around me and gives me a big hug.
“That hurts Yoogeunnie. You love Minho appa more than me? I’m your real appa,” Jonghyun really does look a little hurt because of this.
“You’re just joking right Yoogeunnie? You don’t love Minho appa best right?”
He nods his head in agreement, “Then who do you love best?”
He climbs off my lap and runs to Jonghyun, wrapping his arms around the other’s legs, “APPAAAA! YOOGEUNNIE LOVES APPAAA BEST!”
“Really Yoogeunnie?” Jonghyun bends down and lifts his son up from the ground.
“NE! SARANGHE APPA!”
“Appa ppoppo.”
“Shiro!”
“Why?”
“Umma ppoppo appa.”

I walk into the room. Today was going to be one of the most important days of my life. I was more nervous than I've ever been in my life. I notice a bouquet of roses on the table on the other side of the room. I walk over and admire them. I pull the little heart shaped paper from the middle of it. Don't be nervous baby. I'll be right beside you the whole time. I love you and I will continue to love you until the last rose in this bouquet dies I smile and bring my hand up to feel the flowers in front of me. That's when I realize every last one of them are made out of paper.
“Key?” Jazzy says to me as she places a hand on my shoulder.
“Hm?”
“What are these?” she points to the flowers.
“They’re from my Dubu,” I say and hand her the paper.
“Aw, how sweet is he! Taeminnie come here! You have to read this,” she motions for Taemin to join us and he finishes fixing his hair in the mirror before walking over to us.
“What is it?” he asks looking over her shoulder at the paper, “Aw, Onew hyung is so sweet. Why can’t Minho or Jonghyun hyung do something this sweet for us.”
“I know right? Can we marry Onew oppa too?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll share my husband with you when your husbands are being stupid. Just make sure to keep your hands off his Dubu ass. That’s just for me.”
“Ew Key, I would never touch Onew hyung’s ass. I just want his sweetness and romance.”
“What are you talking about Taeminnie? Look what Minho did for you when he proposed! That was definitely romantic,” Jazzy says to the younger and a smile immediately appears on his face.
“Yeah it was. I could have done without the fake outs though.”
“But it completely caught you off guard when he did propose to you at the end of the night.”
“Yeah it did.”
“What did you do with all the paper cranes that Jonghyun folded for you?” I ask Jazzy.
“We hung them up in our bedroom. Who would have thought my Jjongie would have it in him.”
“I certainly wouldn’t have. But then again, the kid is crazy in love with you.”
“How long until the wedding?” Taemin asks, he’s standing in front of the mirror adjusting his suit, out of the three of us, he’s the most nervous. He’s a bundle of nerves.
“Breathe Taeminnie, breathe,” I rub his back and he relaxes.
“I’m just so nervous.”
“Don’t worry. Everything will go smoothly.”
“I hope so. I don’t want anything to ruin this day for us. We’ve worked and fought too hard to get to this day.”
“I know. Nothing will ruin it. If anything, we’ll all just run down to city hall and get married by the judge.”
“Good back up plan Key umma.”
*~*
I try not to fidget as I stand at the front of the church with Minho and Onew. But I was nervous. I was getting married today. I was getting married to the woman I’ve been in love with since high school. I’ve dreamt of this day for so many years and it’s finally here. I couldn’t believe it.
Everything in my life was going well for the first time in my life. My record label didn’t drop me and let me be open about my relationship with Jazzy and our son. They even went to great lengths to keep them protected from the media and crazy fans. Surprisingly majority of my fans were okay with the whole thing. They thought it was sweet that I was in love with the same girl for the past few years of my life. That I had remained loyal to her for all that time. The whole Sekyung thing was relieved as just a publicity stunt, apparently she was in love with someone herself and I had inspired her to go and be with him. I wish them all the happiness in the world.
The music starts and our wedding procession begin their walk down the aisle. Minho’s parents, Jazzy’s mom, Onew’s mom, Key’s parents, and my mom are leading them down the aisle. My mom sends me a warm smile and a nod before taking her seat. I was glad that she approved of me and Jazzy. She even stood up to my father about it, but he still feels the same way about it all. She said give him some time and he’ll come around. I didn’t care if he came around or not though.
My brother escorted Key’s sister down the aisle, patting my back as he came to stand by my side. Of course he was my best man, he had done what he could to help Jazzy and I out when we first go together. And it was because of Jazzy that we were finally starting to have that brotherly bond with one another.
“Nervous?” he whispers to me?”
“That obvious?”
“Kind of.”
“I can’t believe I’m getting married to her. Am I dreaming?” I feel a sharp pain on my arm and look down to see that he pinched me, “Ouch.”
“Nope, not dreaming.”
“I didn’t ask you to pinch me.”
“You didn’t? I thought you did. Oh well.”
“Thanks bro.”
“No problem,” and he pats my back, rather roughly if I might add.
“Will you quit abusing me?”
“I’m not abusing you. I’m showing my support.”
“Well will you stop.”
“If you say so.”
We turn back to the aisle just in time to see Yoogeun start to make his way down. He’s holding the pillow with all our rings tied to it. Halfway down the aisle he must have gotten tired because he just sits down in the middle of the aisle, pillow sitting beside him. The guests start to laugh.
“Yoogeunnie,” Minho’s appa got out of his seat and is now standing at the end of the aisle, “Come on, you can’t just stop in the middle. Get up and walk to papa.”
“Shiro!” he yells and his voice echoes throughout the church. He pouts and folds his arms in front of his chest.
“Yoogeunnie, come on. We can’t go on with the ceremony until you come down here. So come on to papa already,” he holds out his arms.
“No no papa!” he wags his finger. He definitely had got his mom’s stubbornness and attitude.
“Just like his umma,” my brothers laughs from beside me.
“I was just thinking the same thing. Do you mind going and getting him so we can get on with the ceremony?”
“Not at all,” my brother walks down the aisle to my son and gathers him up in his arms, holding the pillow out for his small hands to take. Of course, being his umma’s son, he refuses to take the pillow and fights to get out of Hyun Joong’s arms. Minho’s dad quickly takes him from my brother’s arms once he makes it down the aisle, Minho’s mom already holding out a bag of fruit snacks to calm the baby down.
“Thanks,” I whisper to Hyun Joong when he takes his place by my side again. I smile as I watch my son happily sitting in the pew eating his fruit snacks.
“No problem.”
All eyes go to the back of the church when the wedding march starts up, signaling that the brides will be making their way down the aisle now. First to walk down is Key. I had to admit that Onew had good taste. Key was a pretty guy. He wore an all white tuxedo, a baby pink tie adding that little bit of color to his outfit. While Onew was wearing the classic tuxedo, with a matching pink tie. I watch them exchange warm smiles as Onew offers his arm to his bride and they walk the few short steps to the alter.
Next to make his way down was Taemin. I’m glad that everything worked out for Minho and Taemin. I mean I know that Jazzy and I went through a lot, but I think they went through more. It wasn’t as easy for them to get back to together as it was for me and Jazzy. Their families companies had to get involved just to give the two the ability to be together. Granted, it was probably the best move both companies made, business was booming for them.
I look over at Minho and see nothing but love as he watches Taemin walk down the aisle. I turn my attention to Taemin and his eyes are exactly the same. The only people who exist right now to them are each other. Taemin had argued about playing the role of the bride the whole time we were planning this. But looking at him in his suit, it was obvious he had to be the bride. He looked even more tiny in his form fitting slate gray suit with a white tie that you were just barely able to see against the white button up he had on, he said he didn’t want to wear all white. Instead, Minho was the one who was decked out all in white, a slate gray tie to match Taemin’s suit. They walk the rest of the way to the alter together, taking their place opposite Onew and Key.
And finally, it’s Jazzy’s turn to walk down the aisle. I feel my breath catch in my throat as she appears in the doorway. She looks absolutely beautiful. Her dress is simple, she was never one for the whole over the top princess gown. She wore a strapless white dress that seemed to fit her like a glove. Hugging just the right places before flowing out to hit her right at the knees. Purple satin ribbon laced her up in the back to match with the purple satin lace up shoes she wore with the dress. The same shoes she wore the night of my CD release party. Except she kept the ribbons laced just around her ankles instead of all the way up her calves. She said she didn’t want to look cheap on her wedding day. I told her that it wasn’t possible, that she always looked beautiful to me.
“Umma!” I hear our son yell as he runs down the aisle to her. She lets out a small laugh as she grabs his hand and he walks with her down the aisle. I must be one lucky guy to be blessed to have Jazzy and Yoogeun in my life. I silently thank god for blessing me with the two.
Jazzy’s mom takes Yoogeun back to the pew when they get to me. I smile at Jazzy and take her hand. I wrap her arm with mines and we take our place in between Onew and Key and Minho and Taemin at the alter. The priest walks to the front of us and the ceremony begins.
It won’t be long before I’m a married Jazzy. The woman of my dreams. My ideal type. The mother to my son. The love of my life.
*~*
“In lieu of vows, the couples have decided to express their feelings for one another through songs,” the priest announces in the middle of the ceremony and motions for us to go ahead with our songs.
Key, Jazzy, and I would be going first since we were the brides. We chose the song “Roc” by Beyonce. It was pretty much a unanimous decision the moment we heard the song. The church attendant hands us our microphones as the music starts.
Key turns to Onew, the smile on his face getting wider. Onew brushes away the tear that escaped from the younger’s eyes. We decided that he’d sing the first verse. It fit him and Onew.
If I wrote a book about where we stand.
Then the title of my book would be ‘Life with Superman’
That’s how you make me feel.
I count you as a privilege.
This love is so ideal.
I’m honored to be in it.
I know you feel the same.
I see it every day.
In all the things you do,
In all the things you say.
Jazzy and I join him at the chorus.
You are my roc
Baby you’re the truth.
You are my roc
I love to rock with you
You are my roc
You’re everything I need
You are my roc
So baby rock with me
I wanna kiss ya, feel ya, please ya just fine
Wanna touch ya, love ya, baby all night
Reward ya for all the things you do
You are my roc
I love to rock with you
I love to rock with you
The second verse was all Jazzy’s. We had decided who would sing what based on the words. Jonghyun has his arms wrapped tightly around her waist now, staring down at her with a goofy smile on his face.
If I were to try to count the ways to make me smile.
I’d run out of fingers before I run out of timeless things
To talk about, sugah you keeps it goin’ on
Make me wanna keep my lovin’ strong
Make me wanna try my best to give you what you want
And what you need
Give you my whole heart, not just a little piece
More than a minimum, I’m talking everything
More than a single wish, I’m talking every dream
Before I know it, it’s my turn to sing. I’m nervous, but the moment I look into Minho’s eyes and see the love for me in them, it all goes away. I bring my hand up and caress his check as I begin to sing.
If there’s options, I don’t want them
They’re not worth my time
And if it’s not you, oh no thank you
I like us just fine
You a roc in the sand, you’re a smile in the crowd
You’re my joy through the pain, you’re the truth through the lies
No matter what I do
I know that I can count on you
I know I’m technically not supposed to kiss Minho until the end of the ceremony, but I can’t help myself. I give him a kiss on the cheek once the song ends. Hey, at least I didn’t kiss his lips. Although, by the look he just gave me, I know he would have much rather a kiss on the lips. I smirk and mouth “later” to him and he smiles back at me.
*~*
It’s our turn to sing our song. Jonghyun is the one who picked it out and I’m glad he did. I had no idea what we would sing. I’m not much of a sing. I’m more of a rapper, but I think I can do the song he chose justice. It was John Legend’s “Stay With You.” The three of us gather around the piano, Jonghyun sitting at it, hands positioned to start playing. Jazzy, Taemin, and Key were all standing together watching us.
It’s funny how we had all matched up unintentionally when it came to our singing parts. Onew was singing the first verse, just like how Key sang the first verse for them. Jonghyun starts to play the piece and Onew begins to sing.
We’ve been together for awhile now.
We growin’ stronger every day now.
It feels so good and there is no doubt
I will stay with you.
As each morning brings the sunrise
And the flowers bloom in springtime
On my lovin’ you can rely
And I’ll stay with you.
Instead of singing the chorus together, like they did, we decided to sing it solo. Just to make it a little more intimate. I watch as Onew sings and gestures to Key, making the tears that have been swelling in the younger’s eyes fall down his cheeks.
Oh I will stay with you
Through the ups and the downs
Oh I will stay with you
When no one else is around
When the dark clouds arrive
I will stay by your side
I know we’ll be alright
I will stay with you
Jonghyun looks up from the piano and makes eye contact with Jazzy. I notice that Jazzy is holding Yoogeun now. When did that happen? Well, he never was one not to be the center of attention. Definitely gets that from Jonghyun. I’m glad that she’s marrying Jonghyun though. I mean even if they didn’t have Yoogeun, this is how it’s supposed to be. She’s supposed to live her happily ever after with him and no one else.
Though relationships they get old
Have the tendency to grow cold
We have something like a miracle
And I’ll stay with you.
Oh I will stay with you
Through the ups and the downs
Oh I will stay with you
When no one else is around
When the dark clouds arrive
I will stay by your side
I know we’ll be alright
I will stay with
It’s my turn now. I hope my voice doesn’t crack or anything. I’ve been practicing my part like crazy. Onew and Jonghyun had amazing voices, I didn’t want to sound like crap compared to them. I look over at Taemin. He smiles at me and gives me a nod before mouthing “I love you.” And that’s just the confidence boost I need.
There’ll be heartaches and pain
Through it all we will remain
In this life we both know
Friends may come and they may go
But through the years I know
I will stay
And in the end I know that we’ll find
Love so beautiful and divine
We’ll be lovers for a lifetime
And I’ll stay with you

Yoogeun ended up spending the rest of the ceremony in either mine or Jonghyun’s arms. Whenever someone would try to take him away, he would fuss and whine. Eventually we gave up and let him stay with us. It felt right to have him here with us. We were a family now.
“Do you Song He Ran take Kim Jong Hyun as your lawfully wedded husband?” the priest asks me and I smile at Jonghyun before answering, “I do.”
“Do you Kim Jong Hyun take Song He Ran as your lawfully wedded wife?”
“What do you say Yoogeunnie? Can I marry umma?” Jonghyun asks our son who is currently in his arms.
“Ne!”
“I do.”
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce these couples husbands and wives! You may kiss your brides!”
Jonghyun and I lean in and share a sweet kiss that doesn’t last too long since Yoogeun is trying to push our faces apart.
“What buggy?” I say before kissing him as well.
“Not yet,” he says.
“Why not?” Jonghyun asks.
“I say.”
“Oh you need to tell us when to kiss?” I laugh
“Ne.”
“Oh okay. Can umma and I kiss now?”
“No.”
“What about now buggy?”
“No.”
We stand there for awhile. He leans in and kisses us both on the cheek, “Umma ppoppo appa!”
I kiss Jonghyun on the lips.
“Appa ppoppo umma!”
Jonghyun kisses me on the lips.
“APPA, UMMA SARANGHE!!!”
We arrive at the reception hall about an hour after the ceremony finished. The photos took a little longer than we thought they would because Yoogeun refused to cooperate. Minho thought it was a good idea to tell him about the cake waiting for him at the reception right when we started. So the only thing that was on his mind was cake. I swear he was just like Onew was with chicken, only his love is cake.
We made it though and the six of us, seven if you count Yoogeun who was currently sitting on my lap demanding cake, were sitting at our table in the front enjoying a nice dinner. A lot of people told us that we wouldn’t have time to eat anything during the reception because we’d be too busy with guests, but we made sure we could eat. We weren’t going to order all this amazing food just for our guests to enjoy. At least that was what Taemin and I said. We were the fat kids of the group, always eating. Jonghyun and Minho were constantly accusing us of being pregnant because the amount we would eat.
Just after dinner ended, Hyun Joong walks up to the stage. He grabs the microphone and starts to talk, “Good evening everyone. I’m sure most of you already know who I am. If not, let me introduce myself. My name is Kim Hyun Joong, I’m the older brother of Kim Jonghyun, uncle to the adorable and loud Kim Yoogeun, and now proud brother-in-law to the beautiful Kim He Ran or as we all know her, Jazzy. I want to take this time to congratulate the three married couples. I wish you all the happiness in the world. I’m not really one for long, tear-jerking speeches so I’ll spare you all the trip down memory lane. Instead, I would like to give the happy couples my gift to them. If you don’t mind, I’d like to do the honors of singing the song for your first dance as husband and wife. Don’t worry I got an actual gift for each of you as well. Just think of this as a bonus.”
The song starts and Jonghyun stands up. He holds his hand out to me, “May I have this dance?”
“I don’t know. My husband might not like me dancing with a married man,” I tease.
“Oh I’m sure he won’t mind,” he pulls me up out of my chair and leads me to the dance floor. Yoogeun still in my arms. I feel a tap on my shoulder just as we’re about to step foot onto the dance floor and turn around to see Minho’s dad.
“Come to papa Yoogeunnie. Let umma and appa dance hm?” he lifts my son from my arms and walks over to the dessert table. No doubt getting the cake that he’s been demanding.
I wrap my arms around Jonghyun’s neck and his arms wrap around my waist. We start to sway to the song, “I love you hubby.”
“I love you too wifey.”
“We’re married, can you believe it?”
He leans down and kisses me on the lips, “Now I can.”
*~*
“I can’t believe I am now Choi Taemin,” I say as I move closer to Minho.
“Choi Taemin? You’re going to take my name?”
“Isn’t that what a wife does? She takes her husband’s last name. So I’m only following with tradition.”
“So you’re finally going to admit that you’re the girl in the relationship.”
“Yeah, besides you’re way too bulky to be the girl. I’m more petite and feminine.”
“Uh huh. A lady in the streets, but a freak in the sheets,” he teases.
“You’ve never complained before.”
“I’m not complaining.”
“So when do we get to start our honeymoon honey?”
“Why?”
“I have some things I’ve always wanted to do with a married man.”
“Oh?” he raises an eyebrow at me.
“Uh huh. You better eat as much as you can. You’re going to be up all night.”
“Am I now?”
“Yeah, you need to satisfy your wifey’s needs. And I need to fulfill my wifely duties.”
“My wifey is quite demanding.”
“Uh huh,” I pull his head down to mine, “Kiss me.”
“Yes ma’am,” he closes the distant between us and our lips finally make contact. I try to keep the kiss innocent and rated g, but it’s hard to not like his tongue enter my mouth.
“Yeobo, not here,” I murmur as I lightly push on his chest.
“Fine, meet me in the bathroom in ten minutes.”
“Are you trying to suggest the first time we have sex as husband and wife is going to be in the public bathroom?”
“Did you want to leave and start our honeymoon upstairs then?”
“No, I’m just asking if your intentions are to have sex with your wife in the bathroom.”
“Yes, yes it is.”
“Okay. I’ll see you there in ten minutes.”
A/N: I bet you weren't expecting me to throw in Key's POV and that the summary for the fic was actually Key. haha. Sorry for not doing Onew's POV, maybe he'll have one in the final chapter. And if there's a lack of 2min, my bad. I tried to focus on all the couples this time around.
