Well, Atton really should have reconsidered his choices in telling a bunch of surly teenagers to not do something. It was just asking for trouble, there.

"I got here three hours ago to make sure I could set a fire correctly," Mara lied with a grin. She knew how to set up a campfire--Hand training had made certain of it. The Empire had spent too much time and effort training her to have her freeze to death on the first planet she got stranded on. "I wanted to impress you."
"I was at summer camp this year, so I had to learn something other than hair-braiding and which boys were totally cute," Mara said a little dryly. "Setting fires is pretty easy. Not burning down the forest is more of a trick."
She poked at the fire with a stick. "What's a fry up?"
