ETA Edited because I should really learn to use spell check before hitting submit. Also, I mixed up principle and principal.
Good case fic, and you had plausible responses to the PD hiring Blair when he wasn't a certified forensic anthropologist such as the classes he took and his experience at the body farm, and that he was going to go for a second Ph.d in the subject, all made it a realistic angle for me to buy into.
Blair and Chancellor Edwards -- He's got principles and she's willing to drop hers to the highest bidder, so in any universe (without completely re-writing her character) they would clash.
Jim and Blair not seeing stars when they met each other was kind of refreshing.
There was also these shamanic connections that made things happen a whole lot faster, and Dan and Blair recognizing that in each other allowed them to cut out a lot of time in getting to know and trust each other.
Hmmm. Did this take place before the Switchman episode, or is that even in this universe? Jim isn't going crazy with his senses so I'm guessing he hasn't had that period of isolation that kicked them up to high gear and a lot of misery in the show.
I enjoyed the story and I've read about the Body Farm. I live about two and a half hours from Knoxville and sometimes there are local stories about it.
I wasn't thinking of the Switchman incident happening in this universe - if it does, it hasn't happened yet. There seem to be other body farms, but as far as I could discover, Knoxville was the first and it fitted the time frame; some of the others were established more recently.
