Room 201, Saturday Afternoon

May 15, 2010 12:56

It was now exactly one week since she'd arrived in Fandom. Rosalind's mixed feelings, today, about that very same fact had to take second place to her needing to send her report off to Tseng.

She was settled at her desk, rereading her report and wishing it didn't sound quite so much as if she'd lost her mind.

Upon exiting the portal, I discovered myself at an airport. After some minor exploration, I located the waiting area for the shuttle meant to transport new students to the school. A new student who went by Denise made a few mistaken assumptions about my appearance. Another student, Rinoa, enquired after my health. I assured her I was merely tired from the portal. Dandelion Naizen informed me about the evils of Vikings when I requested that she modulate her voice to reasonable levels. Christian and I were mutually unable to recognize each other's hometowns. Another girl, Lindsay, and I discussed accidents and the need to be cautious. (She believes I was being bullied. Further detail is included in the appendices.) Dana Scully and I discussed lack of warning in our current situation.

Upon reaching the island we were informed our weapons, should we be carrying any, must be placed in a locker while on campus. They seem to operate on an honour system, however, and did not search us.

Helen, my 'big sibling', gave warning of some of the island's oddities. Dana Scully and I discovered we were to be roommates. This was fortuitous happenstance as she is both sane and rational. After that, I found myself a seat and settled in to observe. Jacob approached me and we discussed the island. He mentioned he knew someone from Gaia. Triela also approached me; I am under the impression that she works in a similar field.

I was approached by a girl who reacted as if she had seen a ghost. I was clung to. It was a particularly peculiar. Her name is Elena. She appears to be my younger sister at the age of nineteen. We argued. She mentioned Reno was also present before running off. She claimed to be a Turk.

Finding a more comfortable spot to think, I was approached by Didi; a girl whose sister had also shown up unexpectedly.

The next day I felt it prudent to explore my surroundings. I discovered the park. Jacob came across me and we discussed manners and muffins. Reno was also in the park. He confirmed some of the things Elena had said and we discussed timelines. Another man and I exchanged greetings.

Tuesday evening, I was exploring the dorms when I came across the rec room. Peter Bishop and I talked of music, worlds, and appropriate ages for professionalism. Lindsay was also there; I enquired as to how she was settling in. Christian as well, and we wound up discussing living poetry and how logic does not play a part to it, in his eyes. He is peculiarly illogical and appears to deliberately insist on remaining that way.

On Wednesday, it was discovered that a paperwork error had placed me in Romance 101. My other class, Blending In, seems much more useful. After classes, I retreated to my room. Alex Karev came in, introduced himself, and proceeded to be offensive. Triela stopped by and we discussed caution and the possibility of meeting at the gun range at a later date. Elena arrived and we discussed expectations and then she deemed it appropriate to bring up sex and affections. Scully and I made plans to go for a run after she enlightened me to the fact that there are waterslides inside of one room. The next day we headed out to the preserve for our run and encountered teal deer. They appear to be harmless and benign.

With a sigh, Rosalind hit send. It was the truth, after all. Nothing she could do about that. She reached for a glass of water.
