slow day
feeling tired today and that's with a two hour nap in the afternoon and a cup of coffee afterwards. i need to stop watching the news but my mind keeps going back to what happened in virginia. didn't do much work today, felt tired and distracted. fortunately classes were canceled this afternoon bec of the rain. tomorrow i'll work on my irb application, i asked a colleague who sits on the irb committee to look over it and he's sent me his comments. i skimmed over some of his comments and it looks like i've got a lot of work to do. i also have to prep for classes.
not much homeschooling got done today. my sister's babysitter (did i mention that that they're not coming here anymore? oh, sweet tranquility!) canceled today so my sister dropped off my niece (who's la nena's age) and my nephews at the house. la nena spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon playing with her cousin, although i had her do a couple pages of her dk math book and practiced counting by 2's, 5's and 10's. after everyone left, she gave us a puppet show then she went with j and my mom to run errands. when she got back, j gave her some lunch and i left them to take a nap. she watched some tv, played on the computer and by the time i got up it was time to take her to karate.
