Racist comments...

I'm actually gonna make this post public in case you want to spread the word.

Okay, I don't know if any of you watch Desperate Housewives, but if you do and you watched it last night, you might know what I'm talking about. I didn't watch it (and don't watch the show at all, even), but The Asian Pacific Student Association at my school just sent me an e-mail talking about it.

If you want to view it yourself, you can go on The ABC homepage and view it online. It's about 18 minutes and 50 seconds into the show.

Basically what happens is that Susan (one of the main characters, I'm guessing) was told by her gynecologist that she might be hitting menopause. She replied, "Can I just check those diplomas because I just want to make sure that they are not from some med school in the Philippines."

I'm just really appalled that one of the main channels here would allow a comment like this to be said on such a popular show. I mean, what was the screenwriter thinking? I think that they were downright ignorant to have a comment like this on the show, and they should apologize publicly for it.

If you would like to sign the petition or let others know, I would really appreciate it. We cannot let comments like this just slide by.

Here's the link to the site.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

(EDIT: This has been cleared up already... I just got an e-mail about it from one of my friends. I wish I had a link to the article, but I don't. If I do, I'll post it though.)
