Still in the "trenches"

Pain continues in my hips and low back, and sometimes running down the outside of my thighs, then ending up all the way down my legs. Last night was one of those non-sleeping nights. Even with all the extra Motrin every 8 hours ( Read more... )

There's a lot here to comment on, but I can tell you that lately I have become aware of my legs as I walk. I find myself looking down, watching my thighs alternately moving and praising them, being thankful that they still work, still support me, still walk around and cover ground for me. It helps me to accept and deal with the pain in my right hip and lower back when I walk too far or stand still for more than 15 minutes or so.

Apparently I have issues/blockages with the sacral chakra also. Lessee...pain in hips and lower back, check. Arthritis (osteo variety), check. Lessening of sexual energy, check. Urinary problems, check.

Now, the lessening of sexual energy and the urinary problems I attribute to menopause. But who's to say that the Big M didn't activate any dormant sacral chakra problems? Any advice you care to give on how you are dealing with opening the energies would be gratefully received.

And...how lovely to find that crystal! I haven't done a lot with crystals per se, but I do have a bowl of "pretty rocks" in my classroom. They include tumbled quartz among others, amythest (sp?) and clear and rose quartz. I have collected rocks since I was a kid, and my kindergarteners are fascinated by my collection. We pore over them, arrange them in groups by color, by size, by favorites. We count them and use them to help in our addition and subtraction problems. They soothe me and cheer me, and I love to see the kids catch the essence of the healing they provide.
