Inspired by a post on blackcigarette, I've spent the last couple of hours looking through old photographs, of myself as a child, and family. I've uploaded a few onto my Flickr page, feel free to have a look. But here are a few or my favourites:

I love this photograph of my mother's parents. They were such a sweet couple. I can't remember ever hearing a cross word between them.

I'm not sure where this was taken, at an event of some sort. But even at home, my grandparents were always well presented.

I still pull this face from time to time.

This is my parents, in a photobooth, sometime in the  late 70's. They divorced about 10 years ago, but I think this is a really cute pic.

In the 60's/70's, there were photographers on Union Street (the main street in Aberdeen), who randomly took your photograph, which you could buy from their shop if you wished. I'm guessing this was taken in about 1975. That's my dad in the centre, at the start of a night out. He was a bit of a ladies man in his day (and still is now). All the girls used to tell him he looked like the singer from the Bay City Rollers (which he hated).

This is one of my favourite photographs of all time. Me and my mum. I'm guessing it was taken in about 1984/85.

I think I might raid my mum's photo collection sometime this week, and scan some more. I love looking through old photographs so much.
I'm thinking of doing an evening photography course at college starting next month. I had a photography class as part of an art course I did a few years ago, and I loved it. I want to get a really good camera - my digital one is rubbish. I like really natural looking pics, rather than the nuclear holocaust style ones I always end up with. Are film cameras better than digital? I loved the whole process of collecting photos from the shop when I used a film camera - I miss actually having photographs in my hand, rather thank looking at them on the computer.
