Oh, How I Love Finding Treasure
So, my sister is still here in Vancouver with me (Since Tuesday), and when we scooted down to Richmond the other day I saw this Manga. This Manga had been haunting me since then. And today, when we re-returned to the mall (we were hanging out with the ever so amazing muning), I had to pick it up.
Why the urgency?
One word: Narnauks.
When I saw it the first time, the cover depicted a Snow-leopard and a Wolf, both clearly enjoying each other's company. The back- a black haired boy, and a Wolf.
So it was TORTURING me for 2 days and I gave in a bought it.
Now I know there are lots of poeple that have nothing against homosexuals, but they have no interest in Yaoi- and that's alright by me.
Mind you, I am not one of those people. XD
So to me, not only did I get great Narnauk stories, but I also got great love stories, and great pr0ns. Can you say "one big happy Bernice"?
Now, mind you, I do not read a word of Japanese- so I am left to decipher the stories by the images alone (except for the bits that muning translated for me... she is so cool). Also note, that as a story-teller myself, I will and have often made up stories just with the visuals as an aid, and can make them either dramatic of funny depending on what my audience wants. However, in this rundown, I only write "fact" as in what the images depict. So deeper detials I have not a clue- (other than the stuff I make up on my own. XD)
So, of course, now I have to give you a run-down of the stories that proved amazing (not all included, just the ones that ring true to Narnauk lores and ancient myths):
1. Right off the bat, the story about the black-haired man and the wolf.
He is more Narnauk than most, as not only does his form start of with the ears and tail, but apperantly, he "devours" something from the black-haired man (what appears to be a hair like substance from within the body of the man.. like an evil spirit) that in turn makes him loose his form and turn into a Wolf completely.
After a touching gratitude moment (the wolf leaves the boy kind of hurt that the man seems to resent him... and then the man goes to speak to him), and they both seem comfortable in each other's company, and major Wolf Sex ensues. Very very good.
2. Next story worth mentioning is an ADORABLE story of a Snail and Slug. Sluggy is caught in the rain looking for shelter, perchance comes upon a Snail (who's very goth and cool) and after the run in (that leads to a kiss) runs away. Only to be attacked by evil children who start to pour salt on him. In commith the Snail to save him (even thought he was- *gasp* - rejected). Proceed to Snail showing Sluggy around and a cute cuddly funny ending where Snail looses the shell and become a Sluggy. XD
3. Third story of amazing: This one will also appeal to Fanatasy/myth/lore fanatics.
A wandering man gets lots in the woods as he is following a mysterious black cloud. He chances upon a mysterious supernatural stranger- complete with horns, face marking, and gorgeous hair that tapers off into what looks like fire. The stranger catches a carp, feeds the man, and both begin to talk and onto the yummy yummy sex.
Man wakes up next morning... in a hut! The other men seem to tell him how he was found passed out in the forest and all that, and how they saved him. Man is not so happy, remembering the lustful night with the obviously supernatural stranger. Spends the day resting, and commith the evening, still haunted by the memories.. goes to take a drink of water, and looks up to the clear sky- hoping to see a black cloud. Well, he breaks down, clearly professes his love and his sadness, and the black cloud appears! Lighting breaks out of the cloud, and a dragon comes out of it, headed strait for the man. When they collide, the dragon transforms into the mysterious supernatural man. They embrace, and the Dragon carries the man away, leaving the other village men very confused as to where he disappeared to. XD
4. Another one of my favorites- a long the lines of a good comic and yet love story-
Set in the jungle, yet with sky-scraper buildings and animals in suits (corporate jungle eh?) We see an inner office "dispute"... a Snow leopard and Wolf are "fighting over" the intern boy- a rabbit. The boss- A lion- comes out and scares them into submission. Sends them for some kind of business in the jungle. The rest of the story is watching the Snow-leopard and the Wolf hicking and finding shelter in the jungle... and of course, as they settle down for the night in a cave- commences the wild animals sex. Next morning they are awakened by the Bear who owns the cave, given lots of fish and they make their way back to the "office".
What's cute is that we see a shot of the office- the Lion and the Rabbit intern are doing it, and obviously, the Lion-boss figured out that the wolf and leopard are a perfect match for one another. Lots of cute moments when the Wolf is afraid to cross hights, and being tricked into playing "fetch". XD
The manga goes on with stories of shrimp, a melodramatic fish man, one that seems to have no supernatural beings in it what so ever, a Horse story, and a Vet who finds a stray cat that actually turns into a man when wet... so obviously, the prized pet of the vet.
Pure gold folks. This is going to be one for the favorites of mine for a LONG time!
