Never underestimate the power of a word

I made my mother cry today.
Not on purpose, or intentionally.

We were sitting in the car, and I was flipping out about the gorgeous snowflakes you could see clearly on the windshield. I had made a mention about why the snowflakes were so pretty. Mom didn't know what I meant and I said "You never heard the story of Lou Lou?"

Well, needless to say, I wasn't willing to be interrupted while I told the story... that's not the proper way to honor an story. So on the way back form the mall, I told her the story. We reached another mall, but sat parked in the car until I finished. My mom was looking at me the entire time... and when I finished the story and got to the bottom line of it- I noticed my mom was trying not to cry.

I keep forgetting that I was trained to be an oral story teller... and sometimes I forget how enticing the stories are.

I caught my mother inspecting some of the snowflakes on the windshield when we got home.
Imagine that.

mom, story
