Still Alive ... Still Kicking
Life has been interesting ... sometimes in the Chinese proverb sort of way. =o)
I've spent a lot of time and resource in the last two years in support of HelenRose's pregnancy, life in her own place (her father's idea, not mine), the twins and all the associated chaos.
I'm principal herald for the kingdom and trying to accomplish the goals I had for that office. I'm trying to maintain relationships and my sanity.
At coronation in April I sat in the cabin with several friends and conversation suddenly focused on me. ... O.O ... Deer. Headlights. WOT?
E: You should teach.
Me: I do teach.
E: You should teach something other than heraldry.
Me: I have done.
Peer: ~perking up~ You have?!
Me: Couple of years ago I taught a fourteenth century overview at University, Pennsic and Gulf Wars.
Peer: What else.
Me: That's it.
Peer: Why?
Me: ~blink~
E: Yeah, why?
M: You know a lot about Germany. Why don't you teach about it?
Me: ~blink~
Them: ~stare~
Me: ... Because it's not the garb or needlework or illumination I'm interested in. It's agriculture and trade and how do you turn ~that~ into a class anyone will want to sit through? ~eyebrow raise~
E: You'd be surprised how many people will show up.
Me: ~blink~
So ... I wrote that class and taught it at our little local Gardens of Thyme event ... I had a dozen handouts and figured I was being overly optimistic ... I ran out. ... O.O ...
