Just got done with another run today, four miles, same as before. I have to get used to breathing hard in this place before my PT test. I can just picture black gunk coating my lungs as I type this.
There was a rather involved debate going on about the death penalty outside the bay today, as I was coming in from my run. Politics and religion; two subjects you should never bring up in polite company. It never ends on a good note. The popular term around here is "can of worms" as in: "Let's not open up that can of worms." But since I've alrady opened up that can of worms just by mentioning it, here's my two cents...
I think there should be a death penalty, only more military-style. One gunshot to the head. It's cheap, instantaneous (and thereby painless), and affords the executee no dignity. None of this dramatic "I have some last words" crap. Just end his life and move on to the next guy. After all, a pistol can hold more than one bullet. The only problem I can see would be the mess. But then, prisoners usually lose control of their bowels during lethal injection anyway, so... you're just trading it in for a less smelly mess. Bonus!
The day's only half over but I know I won't feel like entering anything this afternoon, because my social calendar is booked up with movies, Jedi Knight II multiplayer, and sleep.
Whoo boy. I need a shower.
