I am at a dry spot in work right now. I've done everything that has come up as deadlines and I've been doing field work with Vivian. I guess now it's back to the old project list. And everything I was working on, I don't much look forward to going back to.
There are a couple of projects still going on that I need to get finished. The Escambia project, in which I'm just making figures for someone's paper, is on hold until the guy will actually get back to me, so I can't do anything with that until he emails me back. Once he does, that project will be done. Then there's data management. Fun, fun. Ugh. I need to get the sturgeon potential spawning data ready and into the Dataviewer. That wouldn't be so difficult if it had been done correctly in the first place. Then there is the regional amphibian report. That is in rough draft, and just needs to be edited. Picking that back up wouldn't be too difficult. And then there is of course, the Choctawhatchee riparian project. I don't look forward to getting back to that, but it's kind of on the back burner anyway. And the stupid RCW data. I can't really figure out what it is that I'm supposed to be getting for that project. After all of that I guess I can start on some new projects. At least I will be here long enough to get to some of the other ones.
I'm going to get to go back out in the field on Wednesday with Vivian and complete the pollination study. And Sandy said that there could be some opportunity in the near future to go out with her in the field since her and Karen's work were generally taking place in different locations. I have to get a CPR/First Aid refresher course on April 7th. And I need to order some snake bite boots if I'm going to be out with Vivian during the summer.
It baffles me that the other SCA's, because they're fisheries, get to go buy equipment like $300 wetsuits, but I can't apparently have a decent computer to do my work on. All I really want is some more RAM. Another GB or two would be what - maybe $50?
Anyway, we signed our new lease yesterday, so we're locked in until October 21st. I'm hoping that some of these applications I've put in will go my way. I really need a full-time job.
