It's the MOST Wonderful Time of the Year!!!
AUTUMN!!! Ahh, how I LOVE it! That time of year when if you asked a child to draw you a picture of a tree, they'd need the whole Crayola box instead of just the green. Crisp, fresh air. Leaves crunching under foot. Pumpkins in abundance and yet to be carved (MA HA HA! That comes later my pets... MA HA HA!!!) Ghoulies and Ghosties and Skeletons everywhere you turn. Horror movies on every channel. Hay rides, Corn Mazes, Bonfires, Haunted Houses, Costumes, Candy (though I'm trying to watch my figure!!)
It's just my favorite season atmosphere and weather wise. The oppressive heat of summer is gone, the cool air lets you breathe again, without the bitter coldness of winter yet to come.
It's the time for harvest and yes a time of decay. Everything that bloomed in the spring and thrived during summer begins to die- and yet nothing fades away unnoticed. Quite the opposite. The natural world explodes with color and vibrance. A final flourish of life and brilliance before winter's icy stillness takes hold.
And now, I'm thinking I really need to have my camera with me at all times because here in the mountains where I live things are going to start getting pretty lively!
I think I may have to delve into my extensive Horror movie collection and re-visit some of my all time faves. Yeppers, things are also about to get deadly (MA HA HA!!!)
