1. Saw Ocean's Twelve last night. Wow, I didn't think it was possible for a movie to have less substance than Ocean's Eleven, but I was wrong. I mean, Twelve was still shiny and pretty and fun, but damn, was the plot all over the place. I think I would have enjoyed reading
Confidence Men again more.
2. I'm writing another Maybe-a-Novel, and it's set by the sea, and the sea is very important to the mood of the piece. Thus, I've been trying to evoke the spirit of the ocean through music.
My playlist:
1. The Ocean, U2
2. Moses (Live), Coldplay
3. Prelude: Bach Cello Suite #1 in G-Major, Yo-Yo Ma
4. Your Blue Room, U2
5. Electrical Storm (William Orbit Mix), U2
6. Sax and Violins, Talking Heads
7. Drop in the Ocean, Michelle Branch
8. Edge of the Ocean, Ivy
9. Walk to the Water, U2
10. Paper Boats, Nada Surf
11. Lemon, U2
12. Drowning Man, U2
13. Kite, U2
Any other suggestions? I'd love recommendations for songs literally about the ocean; or that make you, personally, think of the sea; or...that are about self-sacrifice, really (to delve into another aspect of the story). Yes.
You can yousendit songs to girlwithjournalATlivejournalDOTcom, or just tell me the names and artists and I'll nab them off limewire acquire them in a totally legal way. Oh, and of course let me know if you want any of the ones I listed. Sharing is caring. ;-)
