holy crap, its POURING OUT! I was off for the last 2 days and yesterday I didn't even leave my apartment (that jacket is almost done, than god). So it couldn't have rained this hard yesterday? No, it rains today when I have to be at my crappy job and have to go do errands after work.
I swear,
bexatious has taken all my luck lately. Have fun with it while you can!
My father goes in for surgery today on his back. Its the first time that either of my parents have had major surgury and I'm freaking out a bit. He and I don't have the best relationship, mainly because I hate his wife, so even calling to find out how the surgery went will be a bit of sticky wicket as I must try and call his room w/o her picking up the phone. Fun.
And then my doctor (GP) called me this week. Turns out he had a patient with ear problems very similar to mine. The patient had been diagnosed with something called Meniere's Disease. When he looked it up (his just a general practitioner) he called me right away and now wants me to go see an ear specialist. This is what it is:
Ménière's Disease is an abnormality of the inner ear causing a host of symptoms, including vertigo or severe dizziness, tinnitus or a roaring sound in the ears, fluctuating hearing loss, and the sensation of pressure or pain in the affected ear.
Those are my symptoms to a T! The good news is that since I don't drive, I'm actually not likely to get hurt because of this although I have to be aware of balance problems so that I don't fall (normally my balance is great- I can knit while standing on the subway- thank you ballet class!)
At least now we have an idea of what going on. And know why the decongestants haven't worked at draining my ear. But at least I know...
But at least one errand I have to do is to go to the library and pick up 3 books that are on hold for me that I didn't expect to get for months! Yippee! Ok, so maybe the 5 knitting projects and the velvet jacket I need to finish can get done next week. Maybe.
