last night we got to see and meet jonathan richman!!! i almost didn't go but now i'm so glad i did. me and toby had a blast from the past all night. we listened to him so much in high school and junior or senior year went down to eugene to see him at the wow hall. (if i looked really hard i might be able to find that entry in my old lj... to be continued)
when we met him toby got a poster signed, and told him that he was basically a huge part of the foundation and longevity of our friendship for the past 7 or 8 years, and that we might not be the same without his music. it was really perfect and nice. he couldn't talk much after the show because he had vocal chord damage a while ago and isn't supposed to talk about performing, but it was so nice that he still came out to meet his fans. the show was mostly older people and couples , and it was really cool to be a part of something like that.
