I dont know what it is with me and the law but I can't help but break it.
In order to save money that I dont have, I decided to photocopy the course reader which cost $80, from a nice timid boy from my class.
After 30 minutes of photocopying, the owner of the shop confiscates my course reader.
I ask for it back, and she tells me I needed to re-buy it from her.....
or she'll have my university career ruined.
frustrated, I leave the shop, and go to the nearest building of my campus. I sit on the bench and wonder how i'm going to explain to this boy I lost his reader, and how I dont even have 80 dollars to recompensate him...then I look up and I see the LGBTQ office. The world is mean but at least I'm gay. I walk in and start going off to the queer girls about my little episode and they stare at me wide eyed like I'm insane but rather amused. I gather myself and walk back into the copyright place and say in the i'm fucking badass don't fuck with me tone "You can't just take my course reader, it was legally purchased and I own it. You can call the copyright police... do what you must, but give me back my fucking course reader"
So after a few foul exchanges she takes my ID, makes a photocopy, hands me my course reader and says "you'll be hearing from the RCMP soon"
Lol. RCMP for photocopying.
I think its ridiculous I'm paying 80$ for a fucking photocopied collection of articles that some uptight ivy league scholar wrote....who cares more about the preservation of his or her name over having readily accessibility to their so called knowledge.
Done rant.
