this week i was in four airports (again) - columbus, dc-reagan (like a true tourist i took photos out the plane window of the washington monument and capitol building), burlington vermont (so tiny!) and philadelphia. i was in vermont for the first of many trips i will have to take to approve color on lip color, gloss, etc. for work. vermont is really beautiful, but honestly i would go nuts if i lived there because there is nothing to do besides hang in nature. that's great and all, but.. oh i wouldn't survive. i'd be driving to montreal every weekend.
i am kind of surprised (gladly, don't get me wrong) about obama choosing biden as his running mate. biden is crazy enough, has enough foreign policy experience, and doesn't annoy the shit out of me as much as other potentials (i was NOT feeling kathleen sebelius) that i definitely think it's a good choice. like i said to my mom, though, all i expected was another old white dude. but now that the convention is upon us, and the election is only about two months away, i can feel myself physically NEEDING the dems to win just how i felt in 2006 and 2004. AND i am also totally bummed out about stephanie tubbs jones. dick cheney will live forever, but somehow all the good ones go away.
today i ran errands, did laundry, cleaned parts of my house, and have watched a bunch of shit i dvr'd while i was gone. finally finished painting my living room last weekend, which means i can now take forever to paint the room with all my records, etc. and the rest of the house.
this, in bon apetit this month, is the best quote i've read in a long time. i want to blow it up and post it in our office - i've learned that i can eat whatever i want and enjoy it as long as i'm smart about it. i really think the happier and less neurotic you are about what you're eating, the less likely you'll become as big as a house.
other than that, things are okay.
