last night we went to see flosstradamus in decatur. i don't know when i started getting boners for going to see djs, but i guess it's my LIFESTYLE now. i ended up doing my usual bit where i ask total strangers why they're not dancing, and also employing "you came to a bar to WATCH djs?" and ended up making some friends. while i was talking to this one dude, mary j blige was on and i just started dancing and singing to one part and he asked "did you just stop our conversation to break it down?" and i of course answered yes.
so, i'm feeling a bit better now. dancing seems to recharge me whenever i feel like the most worthless, unfun spinster in the universe. plus i like recruiting people to dance because i'm kind of a creep like that. sometimes though, i think people need to see someone who is totally unselfconscious (and then ingest enough alcohol) to be able to let go themselves. i mean, please, we're dancing to technotronic, deee-lite, bmore remixes of paul simon and the bucketheads - who is serious about that shit?
anyway, to avoid springboarding into a rant about people being too afraid that someone will see them acting like an idiot in public.. let's talk about something else.
flosstradamus were sick! and that's all i've got.
