For her Bronze Award, my daughter planted a veggie garden with all produce going to our local soup kitchen. Today we take them her first harvest of peas - about 2 lbs before shelling. She also planted zucchini, and some of last year's heirloom Golden Girl tomatoes sprouted unexpectedly so they'll be getting lots more veggies in the near future.
For those interested, she completed Plants & Animals and Outdoor Creativity towards this. Idea came from the Outdoors in the City badge. ^_^
