It seems like nobody is posting on LJ lately. I feel like I'm walking through a virtual ghost town, lol.
SO I finally got in all my admissions applications in and filled out and turned in all my financial aid forms. The filled out the financial aid online and when I was done the thing told me it looked like I would qualify so I hope it comes through. If it does then I would start my classes in the fall sememster. I signed up for an assiciates degree in Criminal Justice. My goal is to work with in the juvenile system. I'd like to be a juvenile probation officer or maybe work with kids in the juvenile detention facility. People say you should pick a job you are passionate about so you actually want to get up and go to work everyday. I know this kind of work wouldn't be for everybody but it's something I'm personally passionate about because of my past. It would feel very rewarding for me to be able to help kids turn thier life around and help them to not go down the same road I did.
Some people question what field I've chosen to go into. My husbands words were, and I quote, "Do you really want to go work with a bunch of bad ass kids all day?", "Do you really think you could handle all those punks". And let's not forget my dad, "oh be careful what you choose". Blah, Blah, blah. BUt I think I've finally learner you can't listen to other people. You have to do what makes you happy and you should NEVER listen to someone when they say you "can't". When someone tells you, you "can't" you just have to use that as fuel to push you that much farther and prove them wrong. I've learned you can always do anything you put your mind to and that you shouldn't let anything or anybody get in your way or tell you otherwise!
