EXTRA!!-- moderate fangirling is a lie.

May 27, 2011 00:53

right, so i went to this urlai.com website and tried my LJ URL, and it told me that i was in the 13-17 age bracket.

i guess it's fairly accurate to my mental age. ^^;;; but for the sake of at least pretending to be mature, i have decided that this post will be calm, sedate and free of fangirling.

...shyeah, right. -_-;;; just as a warning, this post will be very long. appreciate the LJ cuts. LJ cuts are good.

the past few days have been explosive for fandom in general, i have to say. especially today. but things started a couple days back, when warner was generous enough to release this utter gorgeousness:

jesus christ. i honestly don't know whether to scream my head off or start crying. aren't these the most beautiful movie posters you have ever seen? ;___; they apparently released one a day or something, and ron's was the last, and i waited with baited breath for two days until i finally saw it this morning and it is epic. the fire, and the fire snake, and my ronniekins just looking fierce...

gawd, i cannot wait for this movie. it's ridiculous how excited i am for this. and how absolutely terrified as well. i'm not sure what's going to happen to me when i walk out of that theater.

then, the x-men: first class character spotlights were released by FOX:

still cracking up over the banshee spotlight. and beast's was absolutely adorable. and i have to say, i'm rather liking lucas till as alex, even though his voice is so deep, every time he opens his mouth it just makes me giggle. xD

i hear there are also some sneak peeks out and about, but i'm trying to avoid those because i'd just prefer to see them in the movie, tbh. of course, as i was browsing through the twitter trends to see if i could find some early reviews, someone spoiled the best kept secret of the film. yeah, thanks, twitter. *rolleyes* but whatever. if i have to be honest, knowing about that only makes me even more excited to see the movie! x3

and then today, the press reviews started popping up all over the 'net, and it seems critics are absolutely raving about this movie. i spent most of the day reading every single review my work LAN would let me access, and most of it has been really positive. i'm so excited!

i mean, i would like this movie even if it was bad, just because it's x-men and i can't not like something x-men (see for example: x-men: the last stand and x-men origins: wolverine, both of which i liked well enough even though critics trashed them from here to the other side of the universe), but i'm so glad to see it's getting good reception. the franchise deserves it, and matthew vaughn is awesome so he definitely deserves it too. OMG, is it june 3rd yet? gosh, i can't wait.

some of the reviews i managed to read, in case anyone's interested:

screenjabber
i have no idea whose this is
screengeeks UK
jenniffer lawrence daily
jens altmann
SFX UK
IGN
express UK

but then, as if all that fangirly craziness wasn't enough, rick riordan released the cover art and a sneak peek for the son of neptune.

isn't it the most epic thing? obviously designed with the image of logan lerman in mind, which i think makes it even more amazing. and the sneak peek? hilarious. i'm still laughing when i think back to some of the more memorable quotes, even four hours after having read it. and let me just say, i had not realized how much i missed my bb percy (and percy's narration) until i started reading it.

and the most important part of it: percy remembers annabeth.

heck yeah! i was hoping RR wouldn't be utterly cruel with us and have percy just forget about her just like that. not after everything they went through in the first series. sign from the gods right there! so glad. i wonder if we'll get to see dr. chase, since percy's in california after all. i like dr. chase. i want to see him again. =3

and that would probably be all, right? NOPE. a few hours ago, brandon t. jackson tweeted that "sea of monsters [is] coming soon."

http://twitter.com/#!/brandontjackson/status/73798070499942400

cue me going WHUTTTTTT because i had no idea this thing was even in negotiations! and suddenly i hear this may actually be more than wishful thinking on our part? oh my god. oh my god, i'm so excited! as soon as we get some actual confirmation from FOX, i'm going to start twitterstalking kaya scodelario to get her to audition for the role of thalia, i swear.

oh, man. all this excitement may kill me. but no, i have to stay alive at least one more week so can watch x-men: first class. or until july, so i can watch deathly hallows. or better yet, until october, so i can read son of neptune. or until 2012 so i can watch sea of monsters. oh geez, i'm going to need such ridiculous willpower to keep my brain from exploding.

this week in fandom: UTTER EPICNESS.

guh!, fangirling, trio luv, movies: harry potter, yay!, books: pjo, movies: x-men first class, omfg, movies: pjo
