Dang, this took a while to get up. Also, some of the location words have links to pics. Have fun!
Another birthday, and I was 22. Whee.
I tried to apply to the School of Nursing but failed. Miserably. Twice. So, I decided to change majors and pick something, though still medical, held my interest just the same. Nutrition and the inner working of the body always fascinated me.
My summers are always eventful. At least, I try my best to make it eventful. Out of the country, Anime Expo, and Comic Con should be set in stone as my itinerary for summer to come, until I get married. I did follow this, in fact.
I did go to
Japan for the 4th time, this time with only my family. It was AWESOME, as always. The language barrier feels less and less every time. And strangely, I realized that even though they speak more English in Rome, I feel more comfortable in Tokyo. Why? I just do. There's no real answer to it.
Late June was one of those unscheduled parts of my summer. A guy, who I thought was amazing (if you're reading it like how Katie Holmes says it about Tom Cruise, well you're right on the money), ended up being not so. And please don't think that just because he broke up with me, makes me think of him as a jerk. I'm not that petty. When he broke up with me, he said he needed to focus on his path to be a doctor. Later, after all the bitter feelings subsided, I tried to contact him through his myspace, only seeing a blog entry he wrote, stating that he broke things off with me because he felt his feelings fade. The break-up didn't tear me up as I expected, but it did piss me off for a good while. He seemed like a nice guy, but not very honest. And even though the argument is "He lied to preserve your feelings", then that's just bull. If he was so insistent to preserve my feelings, he wouldn't have broken up with me out of the blue like that. And I had told him many times that I hate liars and the last boyfriend lived in lies. Either way, he lied, I can't trust him and therefore, we cannot be friends. If he does come to my sister's wedding, I'll be civil but quite frankly, I won't dance with him if he'd ask me.
The break-up was quickly followed by
Anime Expo. Dressing up again, hanging out with my fellow otakus. What can I say? AX is just a big party. That was soon followed by a VGO/High Score company trip to Disneyland ("Hi, I'm Tony. I work for Costco, is there a problem here?" "Bri-vy Jones!"). And right after that,
Comic Con, notorious for geeks of all kind! But they should really do something about the hygiene thing. As in, SHOWER, PLEASE!
My summer ended with a Konami Company Barbeque, where I got to learn about the upcoming games. And, I managed to score a swanky cool backpack.
Back to school I went, but not without taking advantage of some tickets to
Great America. I got to spend time with one of the coolest guys in the world, my friend Ricky. We don't talk much now; he has his own life and I have mine. Oh, and that whole "he doesn't know my new cell phone #" mess. But to be perfectly honest, he made me very, very, very confused about things. However, after this day, I realized something very important: why worry about things that aren't there? Just take things as they are and appreciate them. And... I had to accept reality.
School also brought me new friends. My "Nihongo no Tomodachi", a group of six other people, all from different backgrounds, but we miraculously get along fairly well. Oh, and with my "Tomodachi" came a new obsession: NewS. It's a Japanese boyband for pete's sake, but their music makes me happy! So, looking at magazines with their faces on it, and considering buying them even though I don't need them... I blame my "Tomodachi", particularly Amber and Jamie. Yes, you two.
The year ends, once again, in Disneyland. And I gotta say, nothing really beats it. The crowds are packed, but the energy... man, that's what I love. And a trip to Disneyland should be dealt with in two days, ALWAYS. Day One, December 30th, to ride all the rides in both parks until you drop. Then, Day Two, December 31st, to ride all the stuff that has the shortest lines, eat like crazy and score a spot early to watch all the New Years coolness. And also, let's face it, I'm still a kid at heart. What can I say? It is the Happiest Place on Earth, and being there does make me all warm and squishy like a kid! Now, those parents gotta learn to make their eight-year-olds walk, not push them around in strollers!! I encourage everyone, if they get a chance, to go to a Disney park! They are currently celebrating their "Year of a Million Dreams", when employees cast members approach random families attending the park and reward them with a prize (it could range from free dinner at one of the restaurants to an all expense paid trip to one of the other parks in the world)!
A lot of laughs, less tears. Stronger than last year. I'm ready for 2007.
