Take Me With You, Introduction

New Drama!

Jessie gave her extensive makeup kit a slight glare. Her Halloween costume this year was difficult,

and yes, more then a little revealing. But that’s what Trey said he liked. Trey. Tall, dark hair,

mysterious grey eyes. Everything she wanted. And he wanted her. Nerdy, straight- A Jess.

It was something out of a movie.

She gave her bedroom a quick, approving once over. Pin-clean, pink, and perfect, just as Jess

always made sure of before she left. Neat Jess, going with the star of the football team to the

greatest Halloween party in all of Sacramento.  You know, a cool breeze whispered in her mind,

He probably just wants to get in your pants. Or, in this case, leggings.

Shut up, She commanded.

She stormed out of her room, leaving all doubts in her wake.

She strolled into the living room, where it was deadly silent except the crackling of the fire.

Her parents rarely spoke to one another anymore.

“Hey Mom and Daddy…What do you think?” She gulped a deep breathe and turned towards

her parents.

“Oh, don’t you look nice dear?” Slurred Margret Milacant. Trashed. Again.

Jess turned to her father hopefully, aiming for some form of hell raise.

He motioned her towards the couch.

“Sweetie, be careful tonight,” Tyler Milacant began.

“Daddy…” Moaned Jess, in no mood for a lecture. She just wanted him to freak about her

costume. “What do you think?” She begged.

“Huh? Oh the outfit,” He recalled. “Its nice.”

Jess scowled.

“Well, gotta run!” Jess said quickly, and went to wait in the hall for Trey to pick her up.

The two adults returned to a tense, icy silence.

About half an hour after Trey was supposed to pick her up, she received a text.

Cant pic u up.

U no where the party is.

Cu there.

Jess frowned. She knew where the party was, yes, and she knew how to get there. But it meant a

twenty minute walk at 8:30 at night into a bad part of the city.

She’d be okay. It was Halloween. People where everywhere. She’d be fine.

She didn’t get too far before the bag was thrown over her head.

“What the hell is happening? Who are you? HELP!” She screeched, struggling.

“Shut up.” A strong, male voice commanded. He pinned Jess’ arms to her side,

tied her up. He wrapped on arm expertly round her waist, and one strong, massive hand

gripped her ankles tightly. She went limp with fear. He threw her roughly into the back

of some vehicle. Roughly. Too roughly. She smashed her head one something metal,

the wall or the floor. Things grew fuzzy, unclear.  She was unable to process anything, and it was a long

while before she felt the throbbing, unbearable pain.  She began to sob, softly. The vehicle
screeched to a stop, and she as roughly moved, then shoved onto something.

The man removed the bag.

“Welcome,” Began the tall, terrifying looking man. “If you haven’t gathered this yet, you’ve

been kidnapped.”

“Call me X. I’ll ask your names in a moment.”

“I

“There’s plenty of sleeping bags for all of you,” X continued.

“And, that,”  X finished, “Is your restroom, shared by all five of you.”

“Names. Now.” He commanded.

Jessie shuddered slightly, and glanced at her fellow kidnappees.

There was a cowboy…

God, I hope that’s a costume, something in her mind whispered.

“My name is Jed.” muttered the cowboy,  with a very Texan accent.

There was a young girl, maybe 8 or 9, wearing a Jasmine costume.

She looks more scared than anyone else, her mind breathed.

“M-my n-n-name is Jasmine.” The girl stuttered in fear.

Jessie plastered a smile on her face, for the girl’s sake.

“I’m Jessie.” She said, hoping her voice sounded stronger then it was.

“Rorick,” Said the normal, non-dressed up boy next to her. “X, if you hurt my sister,

I swear I will-”

“You’ll what?” Snorted X. “I didn't touch the little idiot. She was too loud for me

to grab.”

“I’m Raven, when are you going to let us go?” She looked close to tears.

“As soon as your parents pay the ransom,” Said X simply.

“Now, surprisingly, taking 6 kids from their families is exhausting. I’m going to bed. Shower.

Put on the clothes in the bathroom. And don’t try to escape. Notice the lack of a door.”

Jessie noticed he said 6, not 5. Maybe he misspoke.

And with that, X retired for the night.

“Well, I think the ladies should go first,” Said Jed.

Raven stood up, and got herself to the restroom before Jessie could even stand.

She left, and strolled to the mirror across the way, producing makeup from her dress.

Jessie made her way to the restroom, then borrowed some of Raven’s make up, and removed

her costume contacts.

Fully dressed and ready for bed, Jessie strolled over to chat with Raven.

The two began to chat about anything that came to mind. Anything to take them away

from their current situation. Hair, clothes, boys, parents. Anything.

Jasmine quickly changed and retired to her sleeping bag instantly.

Jed changed and quickly made his way to the girls, followed closely behind by Rorick.

“I think its best,” Said Jed quietly, “that we being to plan our escape.”

“How?” Whispeered Jess, with a glance at the sleeping girl. “He has a gun. I saw it when he shifted

position.”

Raven snorted. “He won’t use it. He’s too afraid.”

“He’s not afraid.” A quiet voice trembled.

There stood Jasmine, the fear from her eyes temporarily gone.

“He’ll use it. He’s not afraid.” She repeated, more loudly then before.

Jess crossed the room quickly.

“Sweetie?” She asked carefully.

“Back there, he said he took 6 people from their family. There are 6 sleeping bags.

X isn’t a man to make mistakes.” Said Jasmine in clear voice.

“Tonight, I…I was trick-or-treating with my big brother. He…He went as Aladdin. X grabbed me first,

and Tom…he grabbed X, tackled him down… X got mad…and…and he…”

“God no…” Half-whispered, half begged Rorick.

“X did it. He shot my brother. He killed him.”

Then the little girl burst into tears.

“Oh honey…” Whimpered Jess, who gathered the little girl into her arms.

“Killed him?” Gasped Raven. Jed was shocked into silence, and Rorick was moving toward Jasmine

to hug her, like he would his own sister.

It was then that they realized just how much trouble they were in.
