It's my first day back to work since going on maternity leave. It's slow and boring. I put in my illustration I did at home this week and made a logo. Most of the normal stuff I would do was done by my temp. replacement before I got in, her last day is a week from now

Awe. =( I got really upset my first day back to work after having Zoe. I wish it were easier for families to live off one income. Are you going to keep Mondays and Tuesdays off or do you eventually have to give them up? I hope it gets easier for you.

The state would pay my child care for me, but they wouldn't pay me to stay home with her. It didn't make sense - I was making the same amount they were willing to pay.

I should be back to working Mondays and Tuesdays eventually. They wanted it by the end of this month, but I told them I wasn't ready for that yet. So I don't know when I'll add those days back.

I'm basically working to pay child care and K's schooling. If we hadn't put her in private school, I would probably have quit. But, I love all day Kindergarten, so we're sticking with it.

A's first day at the babysitter wasn't bad. He didn't take much of a nap, but he didn't scream all day, so it's pretty much a success. I'm more tired than usual, but work seems to have a way of sucking the life out of you that way.
