Work
Today is unofficially my last day of work before maternity leave. I still work next Monday, on the holiday, but nobody is really counting that because most of the office will be out and it's an evening shift. I cleaned off my desk today, put away all of the toys and took down all of K's pictures. I'll be gone for 12 weeks and someone else will be working at my desk. I don't know how I'll feel about that, but I don't really have a choice.
The girl in my office that had her baby a couple of weeks ago stopped in to show off her baby. She had a boy too. Boy babies look just like girl babies. It brought all of that fear back though. OH MY GOD! I'M HAVING A BABY IN JUST OVER A WEEK! I still need that week, I'm not ready yet.
I have a ton to do this next week. The basement is "officially done". We are meeting with the contractor tonight and dishing out the rest of the money we owe them. We can move K into the basement tomorrow. Then move the baby's stuff into her old room. I'll have a week off to get everything organized. I need at least two.
My mother-in-law is coming to visit for a week starting on the 30th. She's coming to help out with K. Hopefully we'll make it until she gets here. Otherwise K will be spending some time with my mom until she gets here. Luckily my mom has the time available, so everything should work out. It will be nice to have a spare bedroom instead of an empty, dark basement for my mother-in-law to stay in too.
As for me. I'm tired and swollen. My left foot swelled up last friday and has been swelling on and off again ever since. Both feet swell up, it's just that the swelling doesn't seem to go away in the left foot and it does in the right. My blood pressure's up, but not high enough to worry about yet. My tummy dropped, giving the baby more room to move in, he's taking full advantage of the extra leg room. The doctor thinks I should make it to my due date, but doesn't think I'll go over. I'm still going to try for August 1st.
