A few of you brilliant folks suggested a baby carrier or a
sling for my Oliver toting needs. I need one!!! I desperately want to get my hands on something like this. Does anyone have one you don't need? I could buy from you - or trade jewelry. I want one ASAP! Please, if you have one of these things you don't use, I would love it so much. I would ( Read more... )

You could just get a big piece of fabric or an old shawl or bedsheet and tie it around you like a sling. I remember a long time ago I saw a book somewhere a long time ago that was full of different ways to tie it in order to make it more comfortable for both mom and baby, for ease of movement, etc. I don't remember the name but I'm sure you can find the same info somewhere online.

I did this with a boy I nannied... he was about 8 months and I'd put him in my pashmina shawl, tied on the diagonal. He'd sleep every time. Now he's three. (Irrelevant aside)

I would be terrified of fucking it up. :(

I am really nervous about using something I could fuck up that would drop my fragile, old, sweet cat. I am going to hit up some thrift stores and stuff if no one here wants to sell me one. :)

You can make your own with a big rectangular piece of fabric. :)

I will note though that the store bought ones are WAY easier to put on and take off and get the baby cat in and out of.

I use a moby carrier for taylor butyou can just use a top flat sheet and tie it on you in the same fashion as the moby for free. Google the instructions for the moby and there are pictures too... Moms from back in the day will see me with my moby and tell me they did the same thing with sheets!

Maybe I can beg of you to show me next time I see you? I mentioned above; I am terrified of screwing it up and dropping my precious, fragile ginge.
