Childhood Beth = packrat extraordinaire

Ten weird things I've come across while cleaning out boxes of my stuff that have been stored at my parents house since I went away to college:

1) Gobstopper box containing one individually wrapped Atomic Fireball and one candy heart with a smiley face on it.
2) Film canister labeled "Fish Bones" that is filled with pencil leads and a paper listing an up-to-date count of how many I had collected (150, apparently).
3) Half a drumstick used during a performance of Rent.
4) Sugar crystals on a string from some long ago science fair.
5) My Just Say No Club Member ID card from 1993 (with picture!)
6) An easter egg full of tiny pieces of erasers.
7) Paper with our Junior Class Chant ("We're the bomb don't you know, we're the class of double '0'")
8) 24 bookmarks
9) 142 keychains
10) A note reading: "Way does arvey bodey have to be so mean. they jest dowt understnd how sad I am today. Way can't it be sum outher day. Way does it have to be today. Way can't they bother sum boty els. Way does it have to be me. It could have binn Gillian. Its not fair to me. it's theoseday now I know way I had a bad day theosday is alwese a bad day." Wow, lighten up, 1st Grade(?) Beth. And hey, potential first journal entry?

SO MUCH CRAP that I have no memory of, but that I must have spent a lot of time collecting or making. I feel a little bit like I'm betraying my younger self by not remembering all of these clearly important things and throwing them away, but...well...I guess young-me is not going to come back and lecture now-me and cry about it, is she?

I haven't even touched all the old school work I've got boxed up in the garage...
