Tonight we went and saw Dreamgirls, anyways, it was pretty good. I mean, sure I've made better movies, but hey, not too bad for an amateur production. I'd say the star of the movie was def. John Kransinski (Jim from The Office) for like the 15 seconds he was in it. He basically was Jim, or like Jim in the 1970's which was remarkably like Jim not in the 1970's. Seriously though, it was a pretty rockin' movie. I wish I was a sassy black woman like Jennifer Hudson.
Speaking of Broadway shows made into movies, or conversely, mini-series on HBO, I have just suddenly become obsessed with Angels in America. Which, I mean, is a kind of odd thing to be obsessed with. Nothing more uplifting than a hearty AIDS drama. It's just that I had to read the play for English class and then I really liked it, so, natch I wanted to watch the t.v. version. And then after that, I pretty much loved it. I loved Prior and Belize! They were fabulous, I mean, fabulous . I wish I was a sassy gay man like Prior Walter. Well, without the AIDS. He was played by Justin Kirk who was also in Weeds. Fantastic! Love him! I mean, really, who can say no to a gay fantasia??? NO ONE. THAT'S WHO.
Okay, so then after we saw the movie (because really, I don't just sit around all day watching movies...that's a lie) we tried to find a place to eat. Yeah sometimes I eat. AKA all the time. But hello, it was 10 o'clock, which is wayy too late for anything to be open in Maryland except for like THE SILVER DINER, I.E. THE WORST PLACE ON EARTH. So we went there. And let me tell you, craziness ensued. So, our waiter, (played by a burnt out version of Dominic Monaghan) tells us that it's the Host's birthday so they are going to play a trick on him by pretending it was one of our birthdays and then pie-ing the guy. So, then they come around and start singing happy birthday to Sally, who gets dubbed "Amy" and then he says, it's her tenth birthday, which is bizarre since she is like 40 years old. So that's my story. He was a cutie. A total 1600, if you know what I mean. I should have tapped that when I had the chance.
Anyways, so that's all the news that's unfit to print. My winter break has been extremely (x-tremely) uneventful. I went to Florida to chill with the g-parents. But that's over and I'm home now. Basically, since then I’ve just been IMDBing all the movies I’ve been watching, like a bad habit yo. Some days, I wish I could just IMDB people. Hopefully New Years will be fun fun fun despite it being one of the top ten most silly/ depressing holidays of all time. Well, what can ya do? Nothing, that's what.
