...I'll Know When My Love Comes Along
Lately, this concept of running ideas has been floating in and out of my head, and I finally decided it was time for me to write it down. If you ask someone how they knew that their partner/spouse/mate whatever was the "right" one for them, answers vary. After hearing things like that, my mind wonders... "How would I know when I have met the "right" someone?" Here is what I've come up with so far...
1. He would be able to hold long conversations with me at ease
2. He would know how to use his resources wisely to buy me the perfect engagement ring
3. He would know what song I've always imagined would be sung to me to ask me to be his wife
4. He would take me to an art museum as a date and spend the whole day there listening to me go on about art without me ever having to say a word
5. He'd know my favorite kind of flower
6. He wouldn't snore, or at least it wouldn't be loud enough to keep me awake
7. He'd have no problem taking my hand more times than not
8. Walking in the rain would never be a problem
9. The things in life that we find to be simple pleasures would be something we have in common
10. He has the ability to dance
11. Not afraid to laugh at himself
12. Has a great sense of humility/humbleness
13. Can express himself freely with me
14. Loves kids
15. Enjoys reading/ reading to me
16. Wouldn't mind spending a whole day lying in bed with me
17. Can teach me so many new things and have a passion for doing so
18. When I am around/call, gives me his full attention, and if he can't, will call back when he can
19. Remembers all the little things and brings them up to make me smile
20. Loves to be around water
21. Isn't afraid to be crazy and random, but yet peaceful and planning
22. His actions would tell me he loves me before his words ever would
23. Could read me like a book without me ever opening my mouth
24. Would be one of my best friends
25. Would show me nothing but the most honest honesty, truthfulness, respect, and faithfulness.. and I him
26. Wouldn't laugh at me installing a radio in the bathroom and me singing in the shower
27. Would drop everything to spend the first real, decent snowfall with me outdoors making snow angels and snow men and then indoors curled up in a blanket drinking hot chocolate
28. Would ask what to address my parents and show them respect
29. Would think of new ways to surprise me
30. Has the ability to remember important dates
31. Is creative and is a child at heart
32. Is good at massaging
33. Isn't afraid to try new things
34. Likes to cuddle/hold me
35. Can suppress his temper and not blow up/be violent... be civil and rational when he is angry
36. Can love me with all of my faults, and even finds my problems to be attractive
This is what I have so far for this list thing I've got going on in my head. I'm sure I'll be adding more to it later when I can think of more things. I'm patiently and then again, not so patiently waiting until I find this man, my perfect equal.
But until then I shall wait, until then I'll be strong, for I'll know when my love comes along...
