Apparently goldfish don't have a 5 second attention span. It's just a rumour. Some kid in Australia did research regarding this claim and found out that it is wrong. Goldfish can recognise all sorts of things. Still, they're not exactly MENSA candidates. Most fish aren't, anyway.
Then again, intelligence really isn't a given that you'll make good decisions. Some of the smartest people I know do the most ridiculous things. Things that will hurt other people, not to mention themselves (does everyone have a mildly self-destructive side? Or just mostly people I know?) And things that will hurt the way they're seen to the rest of the world. Which, in some ways, shouldn't be important, but let's face it, it always is.
Over the past two years I have seen some bad decisions made. I have made some bad decisions of my own. But here I am, older and a heck of a lot wiser, nowhere near where I expected to be, looking back on the soap opera that my life has become and trying to make sense of it all.
So keep an eye out for some stories.
