Hey all. I'm in downtown LA now and dead tired. This downtown LA reminds me of the matrix and annoying San Francisco with all the one ways. I kinda gave my mom the wrong direction on how to get to the hotel and it screwed us over about 15 minutes. Not too bad, because the traffic was very minimal. There are really crazy over passes and streets, which you would think that I would be used to living in the Bay Area all my life, but for some reason this is just different. It's also very very smoggy and it's disgusting. I'm glad that I won't be living here.
The drive down here wasn't as bad as I expected. I think it's because we were apparently going 100 or faster most of the time. How do those oil machines work? Ya know, the ones that look like birds pecking at the ground... The beach house there is sick! You walk out onto the deck, and then you walk on some sand, and then you walk into the ocean. Ahhhh, I want to live on the beach. Last night we caught sand crabs, had a bbq and a bon-fire, Vicki and I started a Marilyn Monroe puzzle, and other people watched a movie, and then I fell asleep and woke back up and was up until 2 doing not much on my lap top. BUT TODAY! Today was great! We woke up at 7:30 (5.5 hours of sleep!) and went surfing for about an hour and a half, came back to the beach house, went to the beach there and surfed/boogie boarded, sat around, slept a little, and boogie boarded a lot more. I can't believe how much fun boogie boarding is! There were 10 foot swells that would take you all the way into shore, from about 100 ft out, maybe, I'm not exactly sure, but pretty far out there in the ocean. Totally rockin'! I hope that I get to do some more of that on Thursday, but I guess the waves aren't usually that big and not really good for any kind of boarding. Except skim boarding. Maybe. FUN!
Tomorrow I am off to the LBC to sign up for classes, find an appt, hopefully find a/some roommate/s, and get aquatinted with CSULB. I shall update you on that...tomorrow...maybe...
