Oh so very very close ...

*looks at clock* 3 hr 20 - whoo!

Just met a friend for lunch today. Was nice for the catch up. We again replotted how we will take over the world. Does anyone by any chance know how a Think Tank works?

It's raining and I forgot my umbrella.

Am still very sleepy. But have solved some data problems here for another member of my team - please call me the Excel Queen.

Oh yes .. that's why I started this entry ..

Very interestingly, my mother mentioned to me yesterday that she read somewhere that media outlets are annoyed that blogs seem to be taking over the news and now people can access it for free. I replied that I like the irony that we now get our free press for free. If the media were free, if the journalists did their job and reported the stories in full, with analysis etc etc, I wouldn't go looking for other sources. On the other hand, I can see their point. Take for example, the explosion that happened at my place. That was covered by a journalist but surely I gave it better coverage - I was a witness to the event and I gave inside and up to date reports, interviewed other witnesses. I had access to a lot of information that they didn't and it was all freely available here. Imagine if everyone did that. Now, witnesses events take photos on their mobiles - I noticed in the press conference last night after the Not!bombings in London, that the Police Commissioner gave a website address for people to upload any phtos they may have. That's the world we live in now - people will now think to take photos in such events because it was so succesful and useful the last time round (I love the guy in the train who took a photo of his watch which then gave the police the information that in fact all three bombs had gone off together and not one an hour after as they though).

Think about, maybe the role of journalist + cameraman will become redundant?

(PS - George. *sigh* I *miss* good music! Glad I am now making the effort!)
