In the most recent episode of Galactic Suburbia you can hear Tansy telling me that she doesn't think that the third book of the Hunger Games is a book for me. Tansy and I have been close friends for a while now and she knows me very well.
Last night I was reading Blackout by Connie Willis before bed in which there was one line that was a throwaway to what was going on in Germany at the time. The book is set in England during the war. I don't read WWII and I made an exception for this book.
Queue the reason why I don't read WWII books. I spent all of last night in a Holocaust nightmare. I dreamed I was in a concentration camp and that I survived the kill (some people did not die when shot and were left alive in the pile of bodies - and some people escaped the Nazis that way). And then I dreamed the whole night that I was trying to escape the camp. Various other things.
I put the TV on at about 2am and tried to reality check myself listening to the infomercials. Have you ever noticed that the only dreams you can fully wake up from and then instantly fall back asleep into are your most terrifying nightmares? Never the really enjoyable dreams. I think I woke up from this nightmare last night about 5 times.
