So I wasn't going to comment on this the other day - I will never ever vote for a party with Tony Abbott at the helm. I will never forgive him for his position and words over RU486. I felt his words were very clear about what he considered my personal rights and freedoms (or lack thereof) are over my own body

Let's hope this is why we still have Tony Abbott: Liberal are going to keep him in as long as they can stand. Then not too far away from the next election, they're going to boot him out and replace him with a boy wonder full of big ideas and promises. They have to be strategic about it though, because if they do it too soon, he might start saying stupid stuff too, and then they'll be back to square one.

I'm not saying this is a good thing to be happening. I'm just being cynical ;)

I think you're crediting them with too much organisation.

If the ballot had been held a couple weeks later after the two by-elections he would have lost, as he also would have done if one of their MPs hadn't been in hospital that day.

They're a party split down the middle, not a party with a cynical plan.
