sheet mang ! last week my mom accidentally tripped carrying something heavy and fell into one of the windows next to the door and sliced off a chunk of her arm so huge that every doctor in the er at northwest came to see it while she was being stitched up. i would probably have cried and flipped out and cut the rest of my arm off so i wouldn't have to deal with getting stitches, but she just sat and read a book the whole time and ASKED THE DOCTOR IF SHE WOULD STILL BE ABLE TO KNIT. haha. i had my camera on me so i jokingly took a photo of the doctor cleaning it but i'm not going to post it because it literally looks like this:

other than that, being at home has been super awesome and relaxing-- we have three tiny kittens running around the house, it's been 80 degrees and sunny every day, the apple, plum, apricot and pear trees in my yard are making yummy fruit and shilshole beach is still just a ten minute walk away. i turned into an old lady and quilted a cover for my comforter-- it was white this time last year, but then dorm life (alcohol, paint, sleeping on it after making pizzas for 10 hours, someone throwing up on it, etc) and road trip life (being used as a towel/beach blanket, put on top of a car, etc) happened to it and now it's... not white.

i also started on ohio's birthday present-- he turns 27 (!!!) in early september and had never heard of dr. seuss' 'oh! the places you'll go!' before i read it to him this summer, so i made 18 8x10" prints of photos from georgia, the hostel, my friends, his family and ohio and put them in a moleskin journal with parts of the book written on each of them.

and now i'm packing up again <3
