Pampering Day, What?
Today is my Kick-off event for the young mom programs I will be coordinating for Hilltop Health Ministries! Prerry exciting. I have been nervous about this for weeks. I was worried that no one would show up, but I have had over 30 people RSVP and I had to start turning people away. Then I was worried that I had too many people...okay, I still am a little nervous about this, but I found another stylist so that should help. Young moms and moms to be will be joining us at Family Care Connections for health assessments, pampering activities (free styles, massages etc.), arts/crafts, and dinner. I have everything for the event in my car (Steve and Em's car - mine is in the shop)! I am excited about the arts project. I bought those composition notebooks from target and then a bunch of scrapbooking paper and stickers, so they can design the front. I included journal topics and stuff, so if they are anti-social, they can just journal! We have other giveway items to: lotions, bubble bath, nail kits, and informational brochures. One thing I forgot to do was ask people how many children they needed child care for. Also, I didn't calculate the kids into the dinner... We are having fajitas and fruit salad, with Angel Food cake(frosted) for dessert.
Gavin lost his job last week, but I really see it as an opportunity for him and for us. Plus, it has been so nice to have him more available!! Even though he has been super busy, clearing his computer and filling in for people at Beleza (em and steve are sick, kim is in finals). Perfect timing I guess.
