I guess I'll do that meme thing. Since I'm bored, and yet cannot go to bed...

...because I have no clean work clothes and the load in the dryer is still damp bordering on wet, and if I go to bed now they will be wrinkled in the morning and there are few things I rank more loathsome than turning on an iron at five-forty-fucking-five in the morning.

Hmmm. Dean as a Dear Diary guy is intriguing.

My mother is the ONLY person I have ever met who voluntarily deals with irons--although she's not so good before 7:00 am. I am not ashamed to say that my wardrope revolves around things that do not require ironing. I do love the look of linen, but that cloth is of the devil with its wrinkling if a buttefly flaps its wings.

Re: President-Elect Hottie--Holy Moly--we have a president with a six-pack!

Re: Christmas--when I can wrestle the holiday away from my MIL--you've always got a place at the table (and a stocking and a place to sleep and a small child prying your eyelids open at 5:00 am) here. And we can cook a little! But I must admit--there are moments when mac and cheese and X-files sound ideal.

Hee! Awesome! I did have Xmas with the nephews last weekend, so there are victory arms for that! \o/ I will, of course, force you to watch the video of them doing the Heat Miser and Cold Miser dance in front of the big screen when you visit. :)

We're still on for the weekend after next, right? *sacrifices chicken to Mother Nature*

John in Vietnam having a slashy relationship with his sergeant!

*laughs*

Really? I'd like to see you write a longer story that explores that aspect of the catty-corner story where Dean feels peaceful and more whole around Castiel. I don't want angel smut; I find I can't quite smut the angel, but something about Dean getting really attached--almost addicted--to how good he feels around Castiel and Sam getting worried and worrying about what it means and if he's going to lose Dean...

I totally second this, except I can totally get behind the angel smut.

I am SHOCKED. Shocked, I tell you!

::headdesk:: I think it's not the Vietnam part, or the marine/war part, (definitely not the slash part...heh) but more the concept of writing John as a normal young American guy that's intimidating!

I can't quite smut the angel either (although I've seen others do it well), but it is fun to tease at the edges where emotional bliss bleeds into the physical.

I do like the thought of working Sam in there. Hmmmm.

*sleeps you*

I actually really like the diary idea above. Because Dean has a journal, like John's, and Sam's all eye-rolly about it because he thinks it's just Dean being OCD hunter, and then one day when Dean's not there Sam picks it up to look something up... and it's Dean's thoughts and reflections on their life. Hee, well that's how I see it.

My advice to the Christmas thing is to dl lots of good tunes to your MP3 OR nice podfics and just spend the drive enjoying your quiet time. Then have dinner, feel self-righteous that you've done it, and drive home AND THEN watch the X-files. I hope it's as good as you can hope for, anyway.

I think gretazreta is giving good advice here - how to make the best of the situation.

It's refreshing to meet another Ebenezer. I have this persistent fantasy where I spend the Christmas holidays skippering a sailing yacht around deserted Caribbean islands with a crew of buff young men who go around shirtless, bring me cold beers on demand, and never ever mention the Xmas word...

...reality is a family who adore Christmas and all its trimmings, and who seem to think that if they force me to join in the jollity for long enough then eventually I'll Get It. *sigh*

Re: Christmas: Yeah, the new(ish) car has a drop in socket-thingy for my IPod, so I can play my entire library through the stereo. It's pretty sweet, I hafta say. Haven't DL'd any podfic, though. Might give it a whirl!

Re: the journal: of COURSE Sam snoops. Hee.

Hee. Dean lurks over her telling of this story, of course, claiming all the credit.
