Back when
jordanbabe98 , my boyfriend and myself passed through Cardiff (or was it back when we went there in december?), we had this idea about placing an institution as Torchwood in Graz. It was on of these ideas you have when your mind wanders, when you start constructing a story.
Their home base would be right in the center of the city inside the
little rock we've got here. It once had a castle on top, but the French razed almost all of it. The rock has many tunnels that served as bunker in WWII and storage room in peaceful times. Nowadays, it houses a museum.
And for the cases the team would have to investigate... Oh, there's enough history and urban legends and myths and sagas about secret, ghosty, scary, ancient, unsolved happenings and such. It would be sufficient fodder for at least some satisfying stories.
Besides, I've been to Cardiff and I know Graz. While Cardiff is really a nice city, Graz has potential, too. Lots of it. Old and dark alleys, ancient buildings, forlorn ruins as well as modern institutions.
And now, it seems there will be a series about exactly that! How cool's that!?! I read about it in the newspaper today, but can't find much on the subject on the internet. But here's their
official site and the
imdb entry.
Hopefully, the project will turn out great. It certainly has the potential. I saw how... well, I'd say proud Cardiff is concearning their series. I still remember how the people there are aware of the series - in a positive kind of way. Knowing the Austrians... well, let's just say we can't get as supportive and enthousiastic about a series as the Welsh can. Here, it'll already be a success if the people watch the series instead of ignoring it.
Let's just say I'm afraid it will end up in the young people's programm on the telly. It's got supernatural and alien forces, so it's got to be for children, right?
*headdesk*
I really wish the team all the best luck and I've got my fingers crossed for them and their project.
