The stench of 'trash' comes from John Edwards, not National Enquirer

And there it was, right by the cash register, with a headline across the top of the cover promising the latest details of a story the Enquirer broke months ago.

John Edwards had initially dismissed the Enquirer's allegations of an extramarital affair as "tabloid trash." A saw mill worker's son who was himself once dismissed as "poor white trash," he should have been more cautious about underestimating those who are dismissed out of hand as inferiors.”

...

“The Enquirer reporters actually do report. John Edwards learned that when he sought to slip into the Beverly Hilton Hotel to see his paramour and found himself cornered in the men's room.

The Enquirer reporters would have been within their rights to ask him, "Who's the trash now?"”

Talk about your political suicide! What the hell, Johnny Sunshine?! Your wife has terminal cancer, at least wait until she dies before you go sleeping around. As for Elizabeth herself, the fact that she *is* dying is not an excuse for supporting her husband's bid for President on the platform of being a moral family man even after she knew about the affair. Ugh, on both accounts.
