Fidel Castro attacks McCain and Bush in column

"HAVANA (Reuters) - Cuban leader Fidel Castro blasted Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Friday for his criticism of the Cuban government this week, saying McCain had shown why he finished near the bottom of his class at West Point."

...

"McCain, speaking in Miami on Tuesday, vowed to maintain the United States' 46-year-long trade embargo against the island until, among other things, the Cuban government frees political prisoners and holds internationally monitored, multi-party elections.

"McCain, in his book 'Faith of My Fathers,' admitted that he was among the last five students in his course in West Point," Castro wrote. "He's showing it.""

This made my day. There isn't much to say about it really, because its amazing characteristics are quite obvious. I *love* the part about McCain finishing at the bottom of his class - that's completely hilarious. I just found that out the other day. Bravo to Castro for being well read and knowing what the hell is going on - that's a lot more than can be said for many in the U.S. government.

Also, further showing McCain to be a hypocrite - you don't call for sanctions against a foreign government being willing to undo said sanctions only under a standard which your own government is unwilling to abide by.
